.2 Verify that all specified waterproofing, if applicable, has been placed according to drawings and specifications.

.3 Verify that all specified protection board, if applicable, has been placed according to drawings and specifications.

.4 Verify that roof deck materials, thickness, surface tolerances and elevations conform to specified requirements.

.5 Provide written test results for roof deck materials to the Owner, General Contractor and paving slab installation subcontractor.

.6 Verify location, type, and elevations of edge restraints, drains, drain holes, holes and inlets.

3.2 EXAMINATION

.1 Verify that all surfaces, membrane(s), protection board, insulation, drains, are free from dirt, oil, grease or any deleterious substances and debris which may prevent installation, drainage, and stability of the paving slab installation.

.2 Verify that roof deck has a minimum of 2% slope to drains.

.3 Do not begin paving work until such conditions have been corrected and conditions are ready to receive leveling materials and paving slabs.

3.3 INSTALLATION

.1 Locate and place pedestals according to manufacturer’s recommendations and as indicated on the drawings.

.2 Place paving slabs on pedestals to be supported according to pedestal manufacturer’s recommendations.

.3 Align pedestals in all directions and shim elevations of slabs as work progresses and according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

.4 Trim and remove uncovered portion of pedestals to fit tightly with slabs against parapets, walls, and protrusions in the roof.

.1 Cut paving slabs with a masonry saw to fit in these areas. A paver splitter shall not be used. Cut slabs without damage to exposed faces and edges. Cut units should be no smaller than [1/2] of a whole slab.

.5 Maintain consistent joint widths and joints aligned in all directions as indicated on the drawings.

.6 Do not install cracked, broken or otherwise blemished paving slabs.

.7 Remove cut pieces and other debris from the surface and on the roof deck.

.1 Surface shall be broom clean.

3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

.1 Check final surface elevations for conformance to drawings.

.2 Lippage: Maximum 1/4 in. height variation between adjacent paving slabs.

.3 Joint (bond) lines shall not deviate more than ±1/2 in. over 50 ft. from string lines.

.4 The final surface tolerance from grade elevations shall not deviate more than ±3/8 in. under a 10 ft straightedge.

1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

.2 Movement: Provide roof and wall seismic control joint covers that accommodates vertical movement, and either 4 in. (100 mm) of horizontal movement, or 8 in. (200 mm) of horizontal movement as indicated on Architectural and Structural Drawings.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

.1 Installer Qualifications: Engage an experienced installer who has completed installation of wall and roof joint covers similar in material, design and extent to that indicated for this project and with a record of successful in‑service performance.

.2 Fabrications: Provide factory-fabricated corners, transitions, intersections and terminations, fully covered under the joint cover manufacturer’s warranty. Field-fabricated corners, transitions, intersections and terminations not permitted.

.3 Source Limitations: Obtain all architectural joint systems through one source from a single manufacturer.

.4 Product Options: Drawings indicate size, profiles, and dimensional requirements of architectural joint systems and are based on the specific systems indicated.

.5 Fire Performance Characteristics: Where required, provide expansion joint cover assemblies identical to those of assemblies whose fire resistance has been determined per CAN-S101, ANSI/UL 263, NFPA 251 or ASTM E119, ASTM E814, and ULC Standard CAN/ULC-S115, including hose stream test at full-rated period by UL.

1. Fire Rating: Not less than the rating of adjacent construction.

.6 Loading Characteristics: 1. Design standard floor coverings to withstand a maximum point load of 500 pounds

without damage or permanent deformation. 2. Design heavy-duty covers to withstand a point load of 2,000 pounds.

.7 Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 1. Install in areas designated by Architect. 2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and installation are approved

1.7 COORDINATION AND SCHEDULING

.1 Coordinate delivery and installation of joint covers to prevent damage and provide timely integration of units with roofing membranes and flashings.

Fabricate assemblies specifically for required applications.

.2 Exposed Metal‑flanged, Bellow‑type Roof Seismic Control Joint Cover: Provide assemblies consisting of exposed elastomeric sheet over foam bellow supports, adhesively and mechanically combined to exposed metal flanges by bifurcation process, either flat or angle formed to fit detail.

.3 Insulate joint with integrally attached insulation system, factory sized for width and depth of joint.

2.4 INTERIOR SEISMIC CONTROL JOINT COVER ASSEMBLIES

.1 General: Provide manufacturer’s standard assemblies of sizes and types indicated, including prefabricated corner, transition, termination and joint‑intersection units, splicing units, adhesives, coatings and other components as recommended by joint cover manufacturer for a complete installation. 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

.1 Verify that deck, curbs, roof membrane, base flashing and other items affecting work of this Section are in place and positioned correctly.

.2 Substrate Conditions: Do not begin installation until substrates have been inspected and are determined to be in satisfactory condition, with blocking fully anchored at proper location and elevation. All surfaces shall be smooth, dry, clean and free of fins or sharp edges, loose or foreign materials, oil or grease. No work shall proceed when moisture is present on the roof or in the materials that require adhesive attachment.

3.2 FABRlCATlON

A. Provide expansion joint cover assemblies of design, basic profile, materials, and operation indicated on Drawings.

.1 Select units comparable to those indicated or required to accommodate joint size, variations in adjacent surfaces, and structural movement.

.2 Furnish units in longest practicable lengths to minimize number of end joints.

.3 Provide hairline mitered corners where joint changes directions or abuts other materials.

.4 Include closure materials and transition pieces, tee-joints, corner, curbs, cross connections, and other accessories as required to provide continuous joint cover assemblies.

B. Fire Barrier Systems:

1. Prefabricated fire barrier assemblies tested per ANSI/UL 263 procedures. Refer to drawings for fire resistive rating required.

a. Comply with ASTM E119 and NFPA 251 procedures.

b. UL labeled and subject to UL follow-up system for quality assurance.

c. Comply with CAN-S101

3.3 INSTALLATION

.1 Comply with manufacturer’s instructions for handling and installing roof joint covers and materials, except where more stringent requirements are indicated.

.2 Coordinate installation of roof joint covers and associated work so that complete assemblies comply with assembly performance requirements.

.3 Extend roof joint covers over curbs, parapets, fascia and other elements in the construction profile, with factory‑fabricated corners, transitions, intersections and terminations to provide continuous, uninterrupted, waterproof assemblies.

.4 Provide uniform profile throughout length of each installation; do not stretch elastomeric sheets.

.6 Flash flanges into roof system per roof system manufacturer’s requirements.

.7 Splice adjoining sections, corners, transitions, intersections, terminations and expansion slots using expansion joint manufacturer-furnished splice kit. Clean splice area to assure proper adhesion of splice strip. Adjacent sections shall be aligned and uniform in profile.

.8 Exposed Metal‑flanged, Bellow‑type Roof Seismic Control Joint Cover: Allow 1/2 in. (1.3 cm) spacing at splices and flange cuts for longitudinal expansion of flanges. Prime metal flanges to assure proper adhesion of splice strip. Follow joint manufacturer’s requirements for type of roofing system used for the project.]

.9 Membrane-covered, Bellow‑type Roof Seismic Control Joint Cover with Concealed Attachment Flanges: Allow 1/2 in. (1.3 cm) spacing at splices. Adhere membrane cover to substrate with compatible adhesive or mastic. Set termination bar in mastic for water cut-off, secure with termination bar fasteners.

3.4 PROTECTION OF ROOF JOINT COVERS

.1 Provide final protection and maintain conditions in a manner acceptable to manufacturer and installer that ensures that roof joint cover assemblies are without damage or deterioration at the time of Substantial Completion.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

2.1 MANUFACTURERS

.1 Acceptable Manufacturers: Products shall be manufactured by a member of the Canadian Steel Door Institute,

2.2 MATERIALS

.1 Doors, frames, frame anchors, and hardware reinforcings for each of the levels and models specified shall be provided to meet the requirements of the performance levels specified. The material used in manufacturing these products and components shall comply with ANSI/SDI A250.8. Hardware reinforcing on doors and frames shall comply with ANSI/SDI A250.6. The physical performance levels shall be in accordance with ANSI/SDI A250.4.

.2 All steels used to manufacture doors, frames, anchors, and accessories shall meet at least one or more of the following requirements:

.1 Cold rolled steel shall conform to ASTM A1008 and A568.

.2 Hot rolled, pickled and oiled steel shall comply with ASTM A1011 and A568.

.3 Hot dipped zinc coated steel shall be of the alloyed type and comply with ASTM A924 and A653.

.4 Steel Sheet, Electrolytic Zinc-Coated shall conform to ASTM A591.

2.3 FRAMES

.6 Provide frames with a minimum of three anchors per jamb suitable for the adjoining wall construction. Provide anchors of not less than 0.042 inch (1.0 mm) in thickness or 0.167 inch (4.2 mm) diameter wire. Frames over 7 feet 6 inches (2286 mm) shall be provided with an additional anchor per jamb.

.7 Base anchors shall be provided with minimum thickness of 0.042 inch (1.0mm). For existing masonry wall conditions that do not allow for the use of a floor anchor, an additional jamb anchor shall be provided.

.8 Prepare all frames for all mortise template hardware and reinforced only for surface mounted hardware. Drilling and/or tapping shall be completed by others.

.9 Minimum hardware reinforcing gages shall comply with Table 4 of ANSI/SDI A250.8.

2.4 DOORS

.1 Interior doors: Provide interior doors in accordance with ANSI/SDI A250.8 and in the configuration and sizes as indicated on the door schedule:

.3 Face steel sheet shall meet at least one or more of the following requirements:

.1 Level 2

.1 Model 1 - 0.042 inch (1.0 mm) minimum thickness

.4 End closure: The top and bottom of the doors shall be closed with channels or closures. The channels or closures shall have a minimum material thickness of 0.042 inch (1.0 mm).

.1 Flush closure channels: Set back face of channel web flush with door top/bottom.

.5 Core: Provide in accordance with ANSI/SDI A250.8.

.6 Door edge design: Provide in accordance with ANSI/SDI A250.8.

.7 Minimum hardware reinforcing gages shall comply with Table 4 of ANSI/SDI A250.8.

2.5 FABRICATION

.1 Fabricate doors and frames in accordance with ANSI/SDI A250.8.

.2 Prime finish: Doors and frames shall be thoroughly cleaned, and chemically treated to insure maximum paint adhesion. All surfaces of the door and frame exposed to view shall receive a factory applied coat of rust inhibiting primer, either air-dried or baked-on. The finish shall meet the requirements for acceptance stated in ANSI/SDI A250.10 "Test Procedure and Acceptance Criteria for Prime Painted Steel Surfaces for Steel Doors and Frames."

.3 Factory applied finish: Meet the performance requirements and acceptance criteria as stated in ANSI/SDI A250.3. Color shall be:

.1 Custom color as selected by the Architect.

.4 Design clearances: Fabricate doors and frames to maintain the following clearances:

.1 The clearance between the door and frame shall be 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) in the case of both single swing and pairs of doors.

.2 The clearance between the meeting edges of pairs of doors shall be 3/16 inch (4.8 mm) plus or minus 1/16 inch (1.6 mm). For fire rated applications, the clearances between the meeting edges of pairs of doors shall be 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) plus or minus 1/16 inch (1.6 mm).

.3 The clearance measured from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the frame (undercut) shall be a maximum of 3/4 inch (19.1 mm) unless otherwise specified. Fire door undercuts shall comply with ANSI/NFPA 80, "Fire Doors and Fire Windows."

.4 The clearance between the face of the door and the stop shall be 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) to 3/32 inch (2.4 mm).

.5 All clearances shall be, unless otherwise specified in this document, subject to a tolerance of plus or minus 1/32 inch (0.8 mm).

.6 The clearance at the bottom shall be 3/4 inch (19.1 mm).

.7 The clearance between the face of the door and doorstop shall be 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) to 1/8 inch (3.2 mm).

.8 All clearances shall be, unless otherwise specified, subject to a tolerance of plus or minus 1/32 inch (0.8 mm).

.9 Fire-rated frame products shall be provided for those openings requiring fire protection as determined and scheduled by the Architect. Frames, transom and sidelight assemblies shall be listed for conformance with CAN4-S104. All fire-rated frame products shall bear the label of, and be listed by a nationally recognized testing agency having a factory inspection service. Labeling shall be in accordance with NFPA 80, the listing authority's policies and label materials, and shall identify the manufacturer. Fire-rated frame products shall be constructed as listed for labeling in the Follow-Up Service Procedures/Factory Inspection Manuals issued by the listing agency to individual manufacturers.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

.1 Verify that project conditions are suitable before beginning installation of frames. Do not begin installation until conditions have been properly prepared.

.1 Verify that completed openings to receive knock-down wrap-around frames are of correct size and thickness.

.2 Verify that completed concrete or masonry openings to receive butt type frames are of correct size.

.3 Verify that drywall construction walls are the correct thickness.

.2 If opening preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 INSTALLATION

.1 Install frames plumb, level, rigid, and in true alignment in accordance with ANSI A250.11 and DHI A115.1G.

.2 Install fire rated doors and frames in accordance with NFPA 80.

.3 All frames shall be fastened to the adjacent structure so as to retain their position and stability. Drywall slip-on frames shall be installed in prepared wall openings in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

.4 Doors shall be installed and fastened to maintain alignment with frames to achieve maximum operational effectiveness and appearance. Doors shall be adjusted to maintain perimeter clearances specified. Shimming shall be performed by the installer as needed to assure the proper clearances are achieved.

3.3 ADJUST AND CLEAN

.1 Adjust doors for proper operation, free from binding or other defects.

.2 Clean and restore soiled surfaces. Remove scraps and debris and leave site in a clean condition.

3.4 PROTECTION

.1 Protect installed products until completion of project.

3 EXECUTION

3.3 EXAMINATION

.1 Examine concrete surface to receive floor coating system. Do not begin surface preparation of application until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.

.2 Notify Architect of unsatisfactory conditions before proceeding.

3.4 PREPARATION

.3 Allow concrete substrate to cure a minimum of 30 days.

.4 Test concrete for moisture in accordance with ASTM F 1869 or ASTM F 2170. Except where otherwise specified, readings shall be below 3 pounds per 1,000 square feet over a 24-hour period on the calcium chloride test or below 70 percent relative internal concrete humidity.

.5 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

.11 Cleaning: Scrub with Tennant detergent and rinse with clean water to remove surface dirt, grease and oil

.12 Sweep and vacuum concrete surface.

.13 Use magnetic broom to remove excess shot.

.14 For thin mil applications (3-10 mils), the floor can be mechanically prepared using the Tennant EasyPrep system:

.1 Use 100 grit concrete tools on bare concrete.

.2 Use 100 grit polymer tools to abrade existing coating for recoat.

3.5 EPOXY COATING INSTALLATION

.6 Chemical Resistant Epoxy:

.15 Material: Eco-CRE - Chemical Resistant Epoxy.

.16 Open only enough material that can be applied within 25 minutes.

.17 Prime Coat:

.1 Apply prime coat at the rate of 325-535 sf/gal.

.2 Allow coating to cure 2-6 hours at 75 degrees F (24 degrees C) and 50 percent relative humidity.

.9 Protect installed products until completion of project.

.10 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.

.11 Remove temporary coverings and protection of surrounding areas and surfaces.

This addendum forms part of the Contract Documents and is to be read, interpreted, and coordinated with all other parts. The cost of

work contained herein is included in the contract sum. The specifications and drawings are complementary. Items listed under the

specification in this addendum and having influence on the drawings are deemed to alter the drawings. Items listed in the drawings in

this addendum and having influence on the specifications are deemed to alter the specification.

1.0 DRAWINGS

1.3 Openings for Services in T&G Decking

.1 Unless noted otherwise on drawing S-2.02 and S-2.03 provide

the following at all openings in T&G decking provided that no

additional load (i.e. a mechanical unit) is provided above the

opening;

a) Hole size up to 6” provided no more than 2 planks cut no

additional support required.

b) Hole size 6”-12”. Use minimum of L2”x2”x1/4” angle

perpendicular to planks. Fasten with 4-1/4” dia. x 3” long SDS

wood screws each side, 2 per plank. Angle spans 10” past each

side of opening.

c) Holes greater than 12”. Provide 2-2”x12” framing around each

side of opening spanning to support structure C/W LUS210-2

face mount hangers U.N.O on plans.

.2 Refer to S-2.03, note 3). Delete “MECH. OPENINGS

TYPICAL” and replace with “NEW OPENINGS TYPICAL

U.N.O”
