Youth Poster and Video Contest winners announced Yavapai Reentry Project events: From Inmate to Citizen; Community Coach training; Community Coach Appreciation Brunch Dump the Drugs events throughout the County Youth drug prevention education during summer lunch programs at schools and Teen Maze Sticker shock raising awareness about the dangers of underage drinking Professional trainings: Drug & Alcohol Awareness Symposium; Motivational Interviewing Community Events: Walk With Me, Be Drug Free; Erase the Stigma; Celebrate Life Prescription drug abuse education mailing Summer 2017 Quarterly Yavapai Reentry Project events In April, seven new community members were trained to become Community Coaches for people returning to Yavapai County from prison. Over 20 people were educated on the challenges community members returning from prison face when transitioning home from prison. And, almost 30 people attended the Community Coach Appreciation Brunch to hear about the success Coaches contribute to community members returning from prison. Coaches were encouraged, appreciated, and congratulated for contributing to the success of a positive reentry experience. Over 80 people were educated on substance abuse trends, as well as effective prevention and enforcement strategies for drug and alcohol abuse at the June Drug & Alcohol Awareness Symposium.

25 people were trained on techniques of Motivational Interviewing in April.

Over 100 people attended the Walk With Me, Be Drug Free Family Fun Walk at Yavapai College in April.

Almost 900 doctors in Yavapai County received educational materials on prescription drug abuse, pain management, and the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.
