OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP May 19, 2019 - 5th Sunday of Easter “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another." (John 13:34) It is easy to love someone when they love you back. But it takes strength and courage to love someone when we feel unappreciated, used or feel our opinion doesn’t matter. It takes courage to “love my neighbor” when he may be someone I don’t like, someone I don’t know or someone that doesn’t look like me.
Please pray for our sick: Joyce Von Rueden, Paul O’Brien, Jean Stopper, Kathy Mueller, Virginia Larson, Barbara Feiner, Jack White, Brad Crist, Valerie Gobrecht, Kim Busch, Liz Barth, Lydia Leahy, Jacob Kobylarczyk, Ellen Boatman, Val Feiner, Ed Blaine, Carson Hartwig, Darcy (McLinn) Williams and Pat Whalen. If you know of someone seriously ill and needs community prayers, please inform Father Joji. When names need to be removed, please call the Parish Center at 776-4059.

Dear Friends, On the fifth Sunday of Easter we continue glorifying the risen Christ. Gradually Christ ap-proaches his Ascension into heaven. Hence, He promised us a place with him in his kingdom if we persevere in our faith and in love with one another. It is his wish that one day we too shall be with him in his eternal kingdom where he promised to make all things new for us. However, before then we must endure the crucible of this world. In today’s gospel, Christ gives us a new commandment of Love that will help us to overcome
this world and march into the New Jerusalem. Only those who love sincerely can enter the New Jerusalem that the risen Christ promised his people. This love is a mark of the newness of life that Christ brings to all his peo-ple this Easter season.
