The media institute that I would like to publish my magazine would be BAUER MEDIA. Here’s some facts…

• Bauer Media Group is a multi-media company in Hamberg, Germany which operates in 16 countries worldwide.

• The company was founded in 1875• The Bauer Publishing Group has grown into a worldwide

publishing and media company. The Bauer Publishing Group comprises 300 magazines worldwide in 15 countries, as well as TV and radio stations. Bauer started in the UK with the launch of Bella magazine in 1987 and as H Bauer Publishing became Britain's third largest publisher. Bauer further expanded in the UK with the purchase of Emap Consumer Media and Emap Radio in 2008 to become the UK's biggest publishing group.

Why?The reason that I think that Bauer media would be an excellent institution to distribute my magazine is because they are one of the most successful media companies in the world. More than 570 magazines, over 300 digital products, and 50 radio and TV stations reach millions of people around the globe. Therefore if they distribute my magazine, it will be reached globally.Their claim “We think popular” – therefore if they distribute my magazine then people will class my magazine just as popular as Kerrang! As they distribute it. Also With the recent addition of the former Emap Consumer Media titles, Bauer is now the largest consumer magazine publishing company in the UK, playing a primary role in the Women’s Weeklies, Women’s Interest, Women’s Lifestyle, TV Listings, Puzzles, Men’s Lifestyle, Music & Film and more importanly Specialist magazine markets. Furthermore I think that there is a niche in the market for Bauer to distribute an indie magazine as they mainly distribute punk rock genre’s like Kerrang! and Q.

In addition Bauer distribute their magazine to an audience of a similar age group that my magazine is targeted at therefore my magazine will be reaching them similar aged people. Also, because there is a gap in the magazine industry for an indie magazine, it will attract new audiences as it will be a new, fresh product in the market, reaching out to a wider spread of people.

My second choice to distribute my magazine would be IPC however they lack in a much experience as Bauer therefore I would prefer Bauer to distribute my magazine.
