This document describes how to update the following application software programs. PWS-100 Package software programs: V1.30

Sony SNMP PWS-100, Sony HKP Service PWS-100, Sony Web Application PWS-100 Sony Connection Control Manager: V1.1.0 Sony Streaming Receiver: V1.1.0

Equipment required A USB mouse A USB keyboard A monitor A USB flash memory (commercially available, 1GB or more recommended)

Required file Data file for update (Installation Package): PWS-100RX1_V1.1.0.zip


Preparation

1. Connect the mouse and the keyboard to the USB connectors.2. Connect the monitor to the HDMI connector.3. Unzip PWS-100RX1_V1.1.0.zip.4. Unzip 20150724_ChromeUpdateWrapper.zip, PWS-100_Package_1.30_RX1.zip, RX1_App_1.1.0.zip.5. Copy the data files for update to the USB flash memory.

Step1-1: Uninstallation of PWS-100 Package

1. Sign in to Windows 8.2. Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard.3. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features].4. On the [Programs and Features] window, select [PWS-100_Suite] and then click [Uninstall].5. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Remove].6. SNMP Service dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to continue.7. SNMP PWS-100 Error dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to continue.


Step1-2: Installing PWS-100 Package

1. Connect the USB flash memory that contains the data file for update (Installation package) to the USBconnector on the unit.

2. Open the Install package folder in the USB flash memory.3. Execute the “Setup.exe”.4. The InstallShield Wizard is started. Click [Install].4. User Account Control dialog is displayed. Click [Yes] to start the installation.5. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the installation finishes.6. After the installation is complete, click [Finish].

Step1-3: Software Version Check after Update

1. Turn off the unit, and remove the power cord.2. Wait for at least 10 seconds, connect the power cord, and then turn on the unit.3. Hold down the [Windows] button and press the [X] key on the keyboard.4. From the displayed Quick Access menu, select [Programs and Features].5. On the displayed window, check the version of applications.

Step2-1: Installing Google Chrome Update Utility

1. Open the Install package folder in the USB flash memory.2. Execute the “ChromeUpdateWrapper.exe”.3. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to start.4. A command prompt opens, and "Step 1", "Step 2", "end" are displayed.5. "Succeeded." dialog box is displayed. Click [OK] to finish.

Step2-2: Google Chrome update

1. Open Google Chrome.2. In the top right, click the Chrome menu .3. Click "About Google Chrome".4. Chrome will check for updates when you're on this page.5. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Click [Yes] to update.6. Click Re-launch to apply any available update.


1. Open the Install package folder in the USB flash memory.2. Execute the “ReceiverInstallHelperCCM.exe”.3. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that “ReceiverInstallHelperCCM.exe” is displayed.

Click [Yes] to start the installation.4. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes.5. “Windows Security” dialog box is displayed.

Check that “TAP-Windows” is displayed. Click [Install] to continue.USB flash memory


Step3-1: Installation of CCM Application

1. Open the Install package folder in the USB flash memory.2. Execute the “ReceiverInstallHelperRX.exe”.3. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that “ReceiverInstallHelperRX.exe” is displayed.

Click [Yes] to start the installation.4. A command prompt opens and closes during the installation. Wait until the command prompt closes.

Step3-2: Installation of RX Application

1. Turn off the unit, and remove the power cord.2. Wait for at least 10 seconds, connect power cord, and then turn on the unit.3. Sign in to Windows 8.

1. Double Click [Initialization Tool] in the Windows 8 start screen.2. User Account Control dialog box is displayed. Check that “Initialization Tool” is displayed. Click [Yes].

3. Click [Setting].4. Click [Next].5. Click [OK].

1. Double Click [Google Chrome] in the Windows 8 desktop.2. Opens the Clear Browsing Data dialog (Ctrl+Shift+Delete).

Then, select “the beginning of time” option from the drop-down menu.Click Clear browsing data.

3. Enter “http://127.0.0.1:8080” in the address field of the browser.4. Enter the user name and password to log in. The Home screen of the Connection Control Manager

appears.5. Click [Settings] in the global menu.6. Click [CCM] tab.7. Check [CCM Software Version]. Version 1.1.0 (rev.6748)8. Click [RX] tab.9. Select the RX1.10. Check [Rx Software Version]. Version 1.1.0 (rev.6748)

Appendix 1:Recovery procedure forthe PWS-100 Package Suite update failure


1. Turn on the unit.2. Sign in as the “rx1” user.3. Hold down the [Windows] key and press the [X] key, then select [Computer Management] from

displayed menu.4. Click [System Tools] > [Local Users and Groups].5. Select [Users], then right click > [New User...].

6. “New User” dialog box is displayed.7. Input [User name] (ex. test), [Password] and [Confirm password].8. Click [Create] button, then click [Close] button.

9. Select [Groups] > [Administrators], then right click > [Add to Groups...].

10.“Administrators Properties” dialog box is displayed. Click [Add...] button.11.“Select Users” dialog box is displayed. Enter the user name (ex. test), then click [Check] button.12.Confirm the user name, then click [OK] button.13.Confirm that the user name (ex. “test”) is listed in the “Administrators” members. Click [Apply] button,

then click [OK] button.

StepA-2: Installing PWS-100 Package

1. Sign out the “rx1” user.2. Sign in as the new user (ex. “test”).3. Click [OK] button, and change the password.4. Sign in the new user (ex. “test”) with the changed password. Need to wait for a while.5. Connect the USB flash memory that contains the data file for update (Installation package) to the USB

connector on the unit. Copy the Install package folder in the USB flash memory to the Desktop.6. Execute the “Setup.exe”. (Refer to “Step1-2”.)7. After the installation is complete, check the version of applications. (Refer to “Step1-3”.)

StepA-3: Delete Administrator Account

1. Sign out the user (ex. “test”).2. Sign in as the “rx1” user.3. Hold down the [Windows] key and press the [X] key, then select [Computer Management] from

displayed menu.4. Click [System Tools] > [Local Users and Groups].5. Select the user (ex. “test”),

then right click > [Delete].

6. “Local Users and Groups” dialog box is displayed, then click [Yes] to delete the user.7. “Local Users and Groups” dialog box is displayed, then click [OK] to continue.8. Delete the HOME directory of the user. (ex. “C:¥Users¥test”)
