About India Pride Awards

Historically, PSUs have played a vital role towards the development of our nation since

independence. They have been the pillars of the Indian economy. As a tribute to the

contributions made and excellence achieved in public services specially by the Public

Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in building our country, Dainik Bhaskar and DNA have

instituted 'India Pride Awards'.

The very first edition of the awards was conducted on 9th October 2009 at the

Taj Palace, New Delhi. The event was presided over by Shri. P. Chidambaram as the

Guest of Honor. The function ignited a sense of pride for the people who walked away

with accolades.

The second edition of the awards was conducted on 13th September 2010 at the

Taj Palace, New Delhi. The event was presided over by Shri. Pranab Mukherjee as the

Chief Guest. The important highlight of this edition was that in addition to Central PSU's

the State PSU's were also honored.

The Dainik Bhaskar and DNA present the INDIA PRIDE AWARDS.

The ethos behind these awards is to identify and celebrate excellence in Public service with the strong focus

on PSUs and to felicitate their relentless work towards building our country.

The awards for 2011 will be given in a function scheduled to be held at Delhi on 30th September 2011.

This year we have requested Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh to preside over as the

Chief Guest. Shri. Pranab Mukherjee, Honorable Union Finance Minister and Shri. P. Chidambaram,

Honorable Home Minister are requested to be the Guest of Honor for this function.

• Winners will be awarded a trophy and a certificate

• Jury holds the discretion of giving none or more than one award for any category

• Each category in The INDIA PRIDE AWARDS for Excellence in PSUs will be judged separately

• The winners are given the right to use the INDIA PRIDE AWARDS logo on their stationary and other

promotional print material for a period of 1 year. The logo carries a clear mention of the year in which the

winner has been awarded. Kindly contact the INDIA PRIDE AWARDS team for details on the construct of

the logo that can be placed by the winners in their promotional communication. However, any

communication regarding winning of the award (without usage of the logo) can be done without IPA

approvals.

Awards are given for special drive, efforts and results obtained by the PSUs in identified areas.

1. CSR/Environment Protection and Conservation : CODE : S06

CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are long-term activities/initiative/projects undertaken by the organization toward societal benefit with no apparent or hidden business interest. These are preferably in the area which does not have a direct linkage with the organizations business. These are not the activities by which the organization is trying to mitigate/negate adverse effects of their business in society and environment. These may include activities across a vast spectrum like- Education, Disaster management, Social reforms, talent identification and grooming, women empowerment or even promoting good practices.

2. India Image Enhancement/Creating a Global Brand : CODE : S07

These will encompass activities and initiatives taken by the organization that aims or results in enhancing the image of Brand India. It again has a vast spectrum, the list though not inclusive may include; Creating breakthrough product and services, reaching new milestones in term of product innovation or service qualities, promoting India as a destination or as a technology hub and examples like this.

Please note:

In any category the jury and the concerned council has the right to award more than 1 or no awards irrespective of entries received.

1. Public Sector Units (PSUs) - State PSUs

Organizations in public sector operating in India at State level may send their entries for appropriate categories. The decisive factor for eligibility, operations of the applicant must adequately correspond to all the award criteria and should be verifiable at the time of evaluation.

A PSU can enter in more than one category of awards. For each category a separate entry forms must be submitted.

IMPORTANT:

• All entry forms must be signed by the Senior Most member of the PSU governing body

• The name and designation of the appointed representative (the single point of contact and co-ordination from the PSU) for further communication and clarification must be filled in capital letters along with complete address and contact details.

• The entry must provide details (name, address and contact details – email, mobile, landline) of the person who will collect the award in case the PSU is declared as a winner

Application fee

There is no application fee to be paid for the awards

Important :

The Company needs to attach the latest Annual Report along with the filled entry form.

Dainik Bhaskar and DNA – INDIA PRIDE AWARDS Secretariat (IPAS) reserves the right to alter the awards list or reclassify any entry into another suitable category basis the jury interpretation and decision. Only fully complete entries in the prescribed forms will be accepted. IPAS reserves the right to award more than one trophy each year or to withhold awards in any / all categories if the required standards are not met. Disqualification of any entry is at the sole discretion of IPAS on a case to case basis, where entries do not comply with the defined rules or the entry does not comply with the stature or objectives of the awards. IPAS accepts no liability (directly or indirectly) for any loss resulting from the disclosure of information concerning an entry, though all reasonable precautions will be taken to maintain secrecy.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL THE PAGES OF THE ENTRY CARRIES THE SIGNATURE OF THE SENIOR MOST PERSON AND THE SEAL OF THE ORGANISATION.

IPAS reserves the right to offer changes in the award scheme from time to time and no applicant or any party can question these rights. Participating by submitting an entry, a PSU accepts all rules and regulations contained in this document or amended/ rectified/ changed/ altered at any future stage. IPAS is governed by a council that has the responsibility and full authority to suggest, recommend, authorize any change in the format or debar any applicant. The council has its members as senior representatives of Dainik Bhaskar Group and DNA. IPAS will not undertake to return documents or supplementary material submitted with any entry. By the process of sending the entry or by accepting the awards, the PSU grants IPAS the rights to publicize / print / refer/ telecast / broadcast / podcast / webcast / audio or video references or any medium that it deems fit, the details provided in the entry and the coverage or the award function in any format. Participating in the awards tantamount to agreeing to all the rules and regulations as changed / devised from time to time. If at any time, any information provided by the applicant is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the participant will be disqualified from further consideration for the awards. If the information is found to be incorrect post the award distribution, then the entrant PSU will be liable to return the award, which for the integrity of the awards, IPAS may decide to publicize.

The authority for classification of any information as incorrect resides with IPAS. The decision of IPAS in this regard will be final and binding. IPAS has the right to ask for proof of information provided / verify the information provided. If such a request is made (to the authorized representative) and the entrant does not comply, the entrant could be disqualified. Efforts will be made by IPAS to stick to the datelines envisaged below. However in the event of circumstances beyond the control of IPAS, these timelines may need to be altered. IPAS and its associates cannot and shall not be held accountable / liable for any disruption / stoppage / interruption / cancellation / rescheduling of the awards or its ceremony on account of any factors beyond its control.

At the same time IPAS holds the sole rights to decide / alter / change the timelines for IPA.

IPAS does not encourage any contact by the applicant with any of the jury member or any attempt to influence their decision or selection of winners. Any such attempt will immediately disqualify the applicant.

The decision of the IPAS, on the recommendations of the Jury is final and binding. No appeal or communication in this regard will be entertained by IPAS. Any of these rules and regulations may be changed by IPAS without prior notice, prospectively or retrospectively. The decision of the JURY or the council as the case maybe shall be final and binding on all participants. Clarification needed by any entrant will be addressed by IPAS on a best effort basis. Participant PSU agrees that mere inclusion in the process or acceptance of their entry does in no way entitle the entrant for an award.

Non-Disclosure & Confidentiality

Names of applicants, commentary of their entries and scoring information developed during the review of applications are regarded as proprietary by IPAS and are kept confidential. Such information is available only to those individuals directly involved in the assessment and administrative process for the purpose of selecting the winners. IPAS will take all reasonable action to ensure that applications and information provided therein are treated in strict confidence. However, in no way can IPAS be held responsible for any loss of confidentiality to a third party. Moreover, IPAS cannot be held liable for any damage (to goods, or persons, financial loss or consequential) incurred through the breach of confidentiality or otherwise by the applicants or any third party.

It is understood that the applicant is only providing information available in public domain. Applicant in no terms will share or enter any information that is confidential, sensitive or has impact on societal or national security.

All disputes (if any) relating to the awards or arising out of awards shall be subject to the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Bhopal, India. All entrants agree that they shall hold harmless Award management, IPAS, its employees, officers, contractors, business associates or other person and shall defend them against any loss, claim, demand, cost, damages, judgment, expenses or liability arising out of or in connection with any or all claims whether or not groundless, that maybe bought against award management by any third party in connection with their award.

Fill in the form in minimum 12 pt. font size in English.

Print the completed form (or fill them by hand) only on one side of A-4 size paper.

Ensure that the Organization Self-Appraisal Report filled in is legible: this report will be based on IPAS Guidelines and criteria, applicable to individual category. The guidelines consist of a set of questions which when answered, duly supported by the objective evidence, would help in appreciating the extent of excellence achieved by the applicant. The applicant is advised to submit additional support material to further facilitate evaluation by jury panel. In addition to the form there is a limit to number of pages (A4 size) that can be submitted as support data and reference as mention below in point No. 8 & 9. All the support material must be itemized and sent in a single envelope (one envelope per category) addressed to: Abhijeet Godbole c/o India Pride Awards Secretariat, Dainik Bhaskar, D-143 (GF) Sector – 63, Near Capital Hyundai Showroom, Noida, UP –201301

In case the support material is in any other language other than ENGLISH it needs to be accompanied by a literal translation in English. The completely filled entry forms must be sent by POST or courier or hand delivered at IPAS (Noida office).

The forms must reach IPAS by 15th August 2011. IPAS will not be responsible for any delays in receipt of the entry.

IPAS will only acknowledge receipt of entry through e-mail addressed to the designated person of the applicant organization as mentioned in the entry form.

General Instructions for filling the Entry Form

1. The forms must be completed in permanent black ink

2. Incomplete and/or illegible entries may be disqualified

3. The form must be completed in English

4. Answer all questions – it helps in jury decision process

5. In case any question is not applicable to your company, mention 'not applicable' or 'NA'

6. PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL THE PAGES OF THE ENTRY CARRIES THE SIGNATURE OF THE SENIOR MOST PERSON AND THE SEAL OF THE ORGANISATION

7. The IPAS and the jury are authorized to contact the representative marked in Form A for any further details any information provided by him will be taken at face value

8. Use extra sheets (if required) for answering any questions. Remember to mention the question number in additional sheets. Total number of sheets allowed for support details or extension of the answers contained in the main form is limited to 10. In case there are more than 6 sheets, Jury will only refer to the first 6 sheets

9. Attach evidence wherever required to illustrate an issue, case studies, survey/research data and documented information such as company records

In case you are a winner you need to follow the below mentioned guidelines:

• Person designated in Form A will be the representative to collect the award.

• The Master of Ceremonies will announce the category of award. 1 or 2 senior industry representatives

will be called to list out the nominees and announce the winner. On declaration of the winner, the

designated person should immediately walk towards the stage to receive award.

• At the time of receiving the award, he/she should use the steps on the right to access the stage and

should stand on the left of the Chief Guest, facing the audience.

• A trophy and citation will be awarded. Trophy will be handed over by Chief Guest and citation will be

handed over by a senior representative of Dainik Bhaskar Group, Sponsor or any person designated

during the award function

• The trophy will be handed over first, followed by citation.

• Keeping the magnitude of the event and schedule of the Chief Guest in mind, there is no provision for

any speech by the awardee. After receiving the citation and photo-op, the respective person should

leave the stage.

• In rare cases, there may be a few questions asked by the MC which may be replied to, before leaving

the stage.

• There may be a request for a special photo of winners with the trophy after the event and we would

request the winners to comply with this for later communication.
