PSI’s Central Florida operations include offices in Cocoa, Orlando, LakeBuena Vista, and Kissimmee. This group employs more than 125 staff members and has provided geotechnical engineering, construction mate-rials testing and inspection, and environmental services in Central Flori-da and the surrounding areas for more than 35 years. PSI has a staff of 22 engineers, 50+ field and laboratory technicians, and 4 principal con-sultants immediately available to consult and serve on your projects.

PSI maintains complete facilities and equipment for inspection and testing of soils and foundations, concrete, pavements, masonry, structural steel and met-als, roofing and specialty areas. Our laboratories can also perform specialtytesting in which unusual types of materials or conditions are used to meet our client’sneedsandspecifications.Weprovideservicesonaresident(continuous/full-time)orintermittenton-callbasis.Forlargerprojects,webringmobilelabfacilities to theprojectsite. Inaddition,PSIperformsa full rangeofmaterialsengineering and consulting services, including preparation of quality assurance/qualitycontrol(QA/QC)proceduresforconstructionprojects,valueengineeringofplansandspecifications,materialsengineeringanddesign,materialsevalu-ationand certification, investigationandevaluationofmaterial failuresand/ordeterioration, and forensic evaluation of all types of construction materials.

LABORATORY SERVICESPSI has been providing construction quality control services since its founding in 1962. Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory, a subsidiary of PSI, tested the original cablesfortheBrooklynBridgeinthe1880s;inrecentyearsthefirmtestedthereplacementcables.Noothertestingandinspectionfirmhasthatkindofhistoryand continuity.

PSIconsistentlymaintainscertificationbyallpertinentregionallyandnationallyrecognizedtestinglaboratorycertificationbodies relative to the types of testing normally performed in our industry. All measurement equipment and instruments are routinelyinventoried,markedandcalibratedinaccordancewiththeNationalBureauofStandards.Inadditiontocertifica-tion, the testing procedures are conducted under the guidelines of ASTM E329 where applicable, and in all cases, a state registered engineer is in charge of all inspection and materials testing procedures.
