Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang is both heirand head of the original style of Chen Taiji

Quan, being the 19th generationsuccessor to the oldest school in the

world. He is one of the current topmasters today.

Chen Xiao Wang was bornin 1946 and from a very young age was inspired by hisancestors and grandfather Chen Fa Ke, considered to havebeen the greatest Taiji Master at the beginning of thiscentury. He undertook a rigorous training discipline tomaster and be the standard bearer of the family art. Hesubsequently won China's National Tournament three timesconsecutively, in 1980, '81 and '82. He was crowned AllChina Grand Champion at the first International OpenTournament in Xian in 1985. He is a member of the NationalUmpiring Commission and is technical advisor to theNational Federation of Taiji Quan since 1985. He is also thenational coach of China since his appointment in 1988. Hehas trained over three thousand students, many of whomhave won at national and international levels.

Chen Xiao Wang is not just a great champion and practitionerof Taiji, his teaching skills are as excellent as hisperformance. Complicated movements and principles aretransmitted to the students with great ease. His eye for detailis tremendous, no fault escapes him. He speaks English,although his body language of deep breathing, calmness andeasy movement makes words dispensable. To him, all stylesof Taiji, whether Yang, Wu, Sun, Wuu or Chen, share thesame fundamental principles, which he teaches throughouthis seminars around the world.

Chen Taijiquan is the oldest style practiced todayand is widely acknowledged to be the ancestor ofall other styles. Chen Taijiquan (T'ai Chi Ch'uan)first developed this 75 Movement Hand Formwhich is well known today as Yi Lu Laojia. It ischaracterized by whole-body twining & coilingmovements with occasional explosive releases ofpower. It is an ancient form which fullyencompasses the Tai Chi principles. Laojia is amethodical way in which to learn both theprinciples & techniques of Taijiquan.
