What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

What companies distribute and produce our film?

• We want our film to be produced by fox searchlight because they produces independent films as it is not a major film company but it is a sister company of fox 20th century

• Or paramount as it is also a very popular production company that I believe would be suitable for our film as they have produced films that we wanted our film to be like or generally similar films.

Why we decided to go with theses companies

• We decided to go with these companies as they are much more well known companies and we believe that this is an overall advantage.

• All though our film is based on a very risky topic as it is based on a pregnant teenager which isn’t the ‘norm’ , these companies specifically ‘Fox searchlight’ have already made films that are very similar to our like the very popular ‘Juno’!

Advantages and disadvantages to major production companies

• Advantages are that because of these companies success our film is probably going to be much more widely recognised.

• If the film fails the production company will not be largely affected.

• However a disadvantage may be that it does not 100% allow us to stick to a target audience as due to the success of these companies they reach out to a wider audience instead.
