Food Packaging;
Using some of the equipment we have just looked at you are now going to start a project to design and make a piece packaging.
The first thing we are going to do is a spider diagram showing types of sweets and chocolates and cakes, there names and the packaging they come in.
Make sure that your page is bright and colourful and use drawings and writing to express your ideas.

Packaging design, research:
Research into packaging design: Find At least 4 pictures of packaging
that you think looks interesting and make some notes on what you think is
good/ bad about it. Is it colourful? Is it eye-catching? Is it easy to tell what the
product is? What information is their on the packaging?
Mr. Matthews
Packaging Design: Initial ideas.This lesson I would like you to do a quick spider diagram of confectionary product name ideas, make it visual and think about logos: use your
H/W research to help you think of ideas.
You will need a Brand name and logo
And I specific product name and logo e.g.
Remember your product will be the muffins you made in food tech so think about the fruit you
put in it to help with name ideas.
Cadburys Dairy Milk MuffinBrand name^ ^ product
You should Produce 3 design ideas for each and then choose your final designs, you
must explain your choice and the reasons that this is the best option.

Packaging Design: Final design
Now that you have designed and chosen your final design you need to think about how you will
package your product.
The next slide shows some boxes that we can make using the CAM machine, you need to chose
one that is suitable for your product.
What does CAM stand for?
I will then give you a printed ‘net’ and you can draw out your full package design. Remember to
use appropriate colours and have a nice clear brand name.
