dosageBarChip54 has a regular dosage rate of 4 kg to 6 kg per cubic metre. Dosage rate should be determined based on performance requirements.

MixingBarChip54 is added “Bags and All” to the mixer with initial batch water. Follow with dry materials and mix at high speed for 5 minutes. Regular dose rates may reduce measured slump by between 10 mm and 20 mm. For more details, refer to EPC’s “Batching and Mixing” guide, available from the EPC website.

PuMPingBarChip54 can be safely pumped through 50 mm rubber hoses without difficulty. Precautions should be taken to ensure the fibres can pass freely through the hopper grate.

Handling and storageBarChip54 is packed in 3 kg mulchable paper bags (432 kgs per pallet) and supplied on durable recyclable plastic pallets with a fitted rain hood to allow storage outdoors. Bags stored individually must be protected from water damage.

Product The water-soluble Dramix® bundles are the

only real guarantee of obtaining a homogene-ous distribution of high performance steel fi-bers without special equipment and without considerably increasing the mixing time.

The glue specially developed allows the use of Dramix® steel wire fibers with high L/D ratios in bundles for wet as well as for dry spraying.

Dramix® steel fibers can be added to the mix-er or the batching equipment – either on site or at the ready mix plant – or in dry packed mortars delivered in big bags or in silos.

Excellent corrosion resistance. The use of Dramix® instead of mesh results in a good quality homogeneously reinforced concrete. A high degree of density and impermeability prevents the formation of water passages. Despite the eventual appearance of rust spots on the surface, no spalling will occur in the concrete. If aesthetics are a major concern a flash coat of unreinforced shotcrete can be applied.

How to usedosage The exact dosage must be determined by preliminary testing. For shotcrete layers up to 15 cm

(6in.)thicknessinonepass,thedosageofSigunit®-P1AFliquid,shouldbebebetween3to6%byweightofthecementcontent.Sigunit®-P1AF is dosed by means of a peristaltic pump, suchasAlivaAL-403orsimilar.OptimalatomisationofSigunit®-P1AFliquidand itsmixingwith the shotcrete mix must be ensured.

Powder to Liquid Conversion

Powdertowaterratiois1kgSigunit-P1AFpowderto1.23ltr.waterAdd the predetermined mix water to a mixing vessel. The water temperature must be at least 15ºC(59ºF).StartthemixerandaddslowlytheSigunit®-P1AF until dissolved. Mix for another 60 min. Note: Thetemperatureoftheliquidwillrisetoapprox.40ºC(104ºF)duringmixing.

Clean up ReboundandothershotcretewasteacceleratedwithSigunit®-P1AF can be disposed of in the same way as non-accelerated shotcrete waste. Neat accelerator must be disposed of as special waste according to local regulations.

Limitation ■ When using sulphate-resistant types of cement, strength development may be slower.■ Sigunit®- P1AF is not compatible with other Sigunit® accelerators■ The conveyance hose for the accelerator must be thoroughly cleaned before using Sigunit®-P1AF.■ Metalpartsofthedosageequipmentand/orpumpcomingintodirectcontactwithSigunit®-

P1AF must be of stainless steel.■ The use of Sigunit®-P1AFrequiresskilledandtechnicallycorrectinstallationofdosingandconveyingequipment.PleaseconsultourConcreteUnitforfurtherinformation.

NOte: The set-accelerating effect depends on cement content, cement age, cement type, temperature of shotcrete and substrate as well as on layer thickness and shotcreting method.
