THE COLOUR WHEEL

Kansai Inspired Colour System consists of a range of colours that evenly cover colour space. The colour wheel consists of the following:

INSPIRED COLOUR The Kansai Inspired Colour System has further divided the colour wheel to include the following:

• 7 Reds varying in hue from Red-Purple R1 to Red-Orange R7. • 7 Oranges varying in hue from Orange-Red O1 to Orange-Yellow O7. • 7 Yellows varying in hue from Yellow-Orange Y1 to Yellow-Green Y7. • 7 Greens from Green Yellow G1 to Green-Blue G7. • 7 Blues from Blue-Green B1 to Blue-Purple B7.• 7 Purples from Purple-Blue P1 to Purple-Red P7.

FINDING THE COLOURSEach Kansai Inspired Colour has a unique code, for example R3-A1 -4. The first letter and number refers to the hue, so R3 would mean it belongs to the 3rd family of Reds. The second letter and number refers to the degree of muting. In the above example A1

indicates the colour is from the bright, vibrant collection while an E would indicate the most muted. The last number 4 refers to the lightness and darkness of the colour. The number indicates that this is the 4th colour on this stripe card.

NEUTRALSThe best neutrals are found in the range between 06 and Y4 (i.e. the oranges and yellows). For example, Y3-B2-3 is a beautiful off white, while Y3-C2-3 is similar, but slightly darker. Y3-D2-3 is even darker while Y3-E2-3 is the darkest. Notice only the middle letter has changed
