Product catalogue

Dear customer,

You are invited to view the extensive range of products pro-vided by ORLAŃSKI. We hope our products will meet your expectations, as we continue to develop and enhance our portfolio. We are working diligently to ensure our products are both reliable and of a high quality.

To make this possible we employ highly-qualified specialists and work closely with the Institute of Thermal Engineering and Industrial Devices at the Opole University of Techno-logy. We jointly run tests on our products in the research laboratory of the University, which features high-quality me-asurement instruments. We also employ numerical model-ling to assist the boiler-design process.

Our production process use only top-quality and stringently tested components, ensuring the excellent performance of our products.

Quality and customer satisfaction are our top priorities.

Thank you for the confidence you have placed in us, yourappreciation of our brand and your continued use of our products.

Biomass – the fuel of the future

Biomass is a renewable energy sour-ce composed of natural organic mate-rial produced by plant photosynthesis. Energy is produced from forest and agricultural biomass (agro biomass). The material that can serve as fuel can be wood, woodworking indu-stry waste (woodchips, sawdust, and wood dust), agricultural residue such as straw, stalks, and energy crops, such as osier, miscanthus, Virginia fanpetals, and others.

As a fuel, biomass has very favoura-ble properties – virtually no sulphur content and a very low content of ash in comparison with the commonlyused fossil fuels. The energy value of bio-mass is closely related to its humidity levels. The lower the humidity the hi-

highly-efficient devices (up to 90%+) and low gas and dust emissions in the combustion process. Thanks to these features, biomass boilers are on a par with the best oil- and gas-fired boilers. Another advantage of biomass is the neutral CO2 balance, provided that the biomass is used in a sustainable way. The above-mentioned properties make biomass, as a resource used in distributed energy generation, a fac-tor that reduces the negative impact of this sector on air quality (low emis-sions).

Biomass boilers are also relatively inexpensive to operate, which makes them an attractive alternative conside-ring the rising prices of conventional energy sources such as coal, natural gas and oil.

gher the calorific value, which means more effective energy obtained in the combustion process.

The last two decades have seen the rapid development of biomass com-bustion technologies. These techno-logies, which constitute a realistic al-ternative to methods using fossil fuel, are being particularly developed in the distributed energy generation sector. This involves local energy generation for a wide range of recipients – from households and public buildings (e.g. schools and hospitals) to small district heating systems. The market for bio-mass boilers in Europe and the United States concentrates on boilers with power ranging from a dozen or so kW to several hundred MW. These are

percentage of sawdust from deciduous trees.Pellet diameters range from 4 to 10mm)

and length ≤ 50mm).

Pellet advantages:Highest calorific value in biomass (≥ 18 MJ/kg),

Low moisture content (≤ 10%),Low ash and sulphur content (Sr≤0,04%, Ar≤ 0,5%)

Wood as fuel forwood gasification boilers

is a renewable fuel, just like the sun, tidal energy or

the wind. These are energy sourceswhich cannot be exhausted.

Unlike other energy sources, wood is a fuel whichcan be accumulated and stored without any energyloss. Storing lowers the humidity of the wood whilst

simultaneously raising its fuel value (the amount of energywhich can be used during combustion).

Wood is also the only fuel whose carbon dioxide (CO2) balance is zero, meaning that while vegetating through the

photosynthesis process it absorbs the same amount ofcarbon dioxide as it emits while combusting.

Wood

During the wood combustion (gasi-fication process) the exhaust gases and ash created do not contain sub-stances which are harmful to the natu-ral environment, moreover the amount of ash created constitutes 1% of input material.

Humidity in the wood is a very im-portant factor in the process of com-busting it. The less water the wood contains, the higher its fuel value. In the case of wood with 20% humidity, about 30-40% of the general amount of wood needed for one heating se-ason can be saved.

It is recommended to fell the trees during winter period when the sap no

the correct level of wood drying.

It is recommended to use wood that has a 20% maximum moisture con-tent. Hardwoods are used to promo-te longer burns in the winter months whilst softwoods can be used for batch burning or creating an ember layer when starting a fire. The softwo-ods can also be used on their own or mixed with with hardwoods when the boiler is running constantly but it is im-portant that temperatures of 80°C to 90°C are set on the control panel.

longer circulates within them. Afterfelling, the wood needs to be cut into logs about 35-45cm long and divided into halves or quarters as soon aspossible. The suitably prepared wood should be stored for a period of 18-24 months in a ventilated room and shel-tered place. Oak is an exception as due to its high density and the content of tannin it requires storing outside and exposure to rain for 12 months, and then requires drying under cover for 2-3 years. After 2 years tannin, volati-le ingredients of resin, turpentine, etc. will be removed from the wood and the humidity will reach 15-20%. This is

Woodgasification as

an economicsource of heating

Wood gasification is a thermal decompo-sition of wood with a significant air (oxy-gen) deficit which results in the creation of combustible gases (wood gases) and ash. Modern wood gasification boilers use the energy from the wood three times more ef-fectively than appliances with a traditional hearth and their emissions are similar to gas boilers.

Wood gasification boiler

Basic information

Wood is a widely available fuel and also one of the least expensive reso-urces. In the correct wood combustion process small amounts of harmful substances are produced, such as NOx, CO, Hydrocarbons, breathable dust and the amount of ash produced is about 1% of the mass of the fuel load (this depends on the dust content of the wood).

Orlański’s wood gasification boilers are adapted to wood of various partic-lesize distribution: wood logs, logs and chips. Sawdust and chips should beburned along with wood logs.

ORLAN SUPER boilers are de-signed for heating various types of buildings. They are commonly used in detached houses, dry-ing facilities, industrial units and workshops.

ORLAN SUPER 96 or 130kW bo-ilers allow the heating of larger areas such as large industrial bu-ildings or public facilities.

How do I know which boiler is suitable for me?:

An installation designer will estimate how much heat heat will be required in the building.

The result needs to be increased by 20% (so called boiler over-sizing)

Hot air heating – economical, easy and fast

Use

Wood gasification hot air blowers are commonly used in industrial buildings or other facilities as: wa-rehouses, workshops, hangars, tents or outbuildings.

They’re also used as a source of hot air in technological purposes in drying houses of wood, grains, herbs or fruits.

Based on the wood gasification process,Orlanski developed a hot air blower that produces warm air of up to 120°C.

The ORLIGNO 600 hot air blower has very high efficiency – giving 100% clean hot air ranging from 50°C to 120°C.
