Rewards Apprenticeship Academy

We are passionate about the development of young people. Rewards has provided Apprenticeship training to thousands of school leavers and adults over the past ten years. By working closely with employers across the region, we have helped people take their first steps in to the world of work and assured their future by building essential and sustainable skills that will benefit them throughout their careers.

To supplement our Apprenticeship training we have introduced an Apprenticeship Academy. The Academy is designed with junior employees in mind in order to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to flourish within a Business Administration or Customer Service setting. The Academy benefits the employer by providing the perfect combination of industry training and best practice, whilst the apprentice benefits from up-front training leading to an apprenticeship

qualification and builds confidence and skills with their employer throughout the process.

Apprentices attend the Academy for 2 days per week, for the initial 8 weeks of employment before they are fully integrated into the workplace. In addition, each apprentice is allocated a personal trainer who will visit the apprentice in their workplace every 2 to 4 weeks once they have graduated from the Academy and are working full-time. Full funding is

available to those aged 16-18 and as the Academy is a rolling programme it can welcome new apprentices at any time during the year!

Apprenticeship Recruitment

If you are interested in taking on a new apprentice but do not have the time to undergo the full recruitment process yourself then why not try our free service? Rewards will screen and short-list potential applicants, based upon your specifications and then invite you to interview selected applicants. We will assist with co-ordinating interviews and once you have selected a suitable apprentice we will train the individual through our Academy programme; aiding a smooth transition into your company. If you choose the non-Academy route then a small contribution will be required to use our Recuitment service.

Here’s what a recent employer had to say about our Academy and recruitment service:“ ...I recently recruited an apprentice, with the help of the Rewards Academy programme. I have no regrets as she has exceeded all my expectations and I see a long-term future for her within our company... I was delighted that Rewards selected an apprentice that fits perfectly within our organisation and provide her with quality training. I would have no hesitation in using Rewards to recruit and train further apprentices in the future.” Mike Oliver, Principal, Mike Oliver Associates

I love her training style; she definitely changes her style to suit the student. ...Her experiences have led her to be full of knowledge and understanding of situations within the work place and how you as a student can deal with them. Everyone in my team that has worked with Christine has enjoyed their time together and I am pleased to say a 100% pass rate...” Cale Sinfield, Customer Services & Marketing Manager, Plastica Ltd What our employers say:“I have been working with Linda Powell, Andrew Ayres & Andrew Davidson for all my NVQ and apprenticeship requirements over the last 6 years. Business Functional Skills

English and MathsWith increasing reliance on email communication in business and the growing use of instant communications through social networking it is vital for organisations to ensure that staff given responsibility for communication both internally and externally have the skills necessary to make your business stand out from the crowd.

More and more organisations are taking a proactive approach to help improve levels of literacy at work. Working with Rewards’ team, is the most effective way for businesses to identify strengths and weaknesses and work with us to arrange teaching and learning resources to help staff achieve nationally recognised standards.

What are the benefits?Working with our expert qualified teachers and trainers can help your team improve the ability to communicate effectively, accurately and consistently. Our syllabus can be tailored to suit specific business needs and focus on important issues including letter writing, spelling and grammar, composing emails, proofing, working with fractions decimals and percentages and handling data.

Individuals who attend the Business Functional Skills courses can expect to benefit from increased confidence and self-esteem to take on new roles at work and at home. For the employer, staff gaining new skills, recognised qualifications and improved communication skills leads to better customer relations and fewer complaints. Typically funding can be sourced for qualifying adults.

Business EnglishDiverse teams lead to a better working environment but increasingly businesses are finding they need to develop staff to speak English at a better level. This leads to improved communication with colleagues and customers alike, greater understanding and increased productivity.
