SENIORS CITIZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY

KONDININ, HYDEN & KARLGARIN LIONS CLUB

Again this year everyone had a blast at the Senior Citizens

Christmas Party held at the Bill Smoker Room last night. Thank you

to all those from Hyden, Kondinin and Karlgarin who came along

to the dinner hosted by the Shire and this year the Kondinin Lions

Club.

A special thank to the Kondinin Hospital Ladies for the catering

who served up a delicious meal of lovely salads and cold meat

followed by a sumptuous dessert.

THE SILOS IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS IN HYDEN

Local Hyden business woman Chloe Tienhoven has recently opened her new workers accommodation ‘The Silos’, located at the former Hyden abattoir on Aylmore Road, Hyden. Chloe and her partner Craig have cleverly converted the former abattoir buildings to accommodate a communal kitchen, laundry and dining area and installed two transportable buildings with four bedrooms each with an ensuite, queen size bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, TV, DVD player, bar fridge, kettle and toaster. The former boiler room has been converted to a games room, which can be opened on both sides to let the breeze through in the summer months. Whilst ABC regional radio asked listeners last year for a name for the new business to tie in with the former use as an abattoir, Chloe chose the name ‘The Silos’, as the accommodation has a lovely aspect looking west towards the Hyden silos and wheat bins in town. LOCAL SPORTING CHAMPIONS FUNDING ROUND THREE IS OPEN Who can apply? coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.
