The local government has received an application to develop and use land for the following purpose and public comments are invited. Lot Nos: Lot 2 and Lot 4 Street: Lovering Road Suburb: Hyden Proposal: The proposal comprises a ticket box, caretakers unit and transit park to be incorporated into the Wave Rock Amphitheatre site at Lot 4 Lovering Road, and the adjacent site at Lot 2 Lovering Road, Hyden. Details of the proposal are available for inspection at the Hyden local government office at McPherson Street, Hyden or can be viewed from the Shire’s website www.kondinin.wa.gov.au. KONDININ ART SHOW OPENING NIGHT 2018

When: Friday 5th October 2018 from 7:30pm - 9.30pm

Where: Kondinin Town Hall, 25 Jones Street, Kondinin, Western Australia

Join us for the Official Opening of the

Kondinin Art Show for this year.

The show is organised by the Kondinin

Artists’ Group which has 22 volunteers

and the Shire of kondinin is the main

sponsor of the event, providing $7500

for the coveted first prize, the Kondinin

Open Acquisition Prize. The recipient of

the first prize will be selected by guest

judge Roger Reading which includes

all pieces from the ‘works on paper’

and ‘works on canvas’ categories.

For a small entry fee, the Opening

Evening of the Art Exhibition includes

access to the exhibition of professional

and amateur art (visual, sculpture, and

other medium), door prize, delicious

catering and beverages and a

chance to mingle with artists and with

the Shire of Kondinin communities. So

Re-Surfacing of Kondinin Netball Courts West Coast Synthetic Surfaces chose a cold week to undertake the re-surfacing to the Kondinin Netball Courts, however this did not stop them doing a great job. Both courts have been re-surfaced and line marked, including basket ball line marking on Court 2. This project was made possible through funding through the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (CSRFF Small Grant), the Shire of Kondinin, the Kondinin Netball Club, Emerald Grain and the Kondinin Hotel Community & Sporting Association. Thank you to all those that provided sponsorship towards this project. The Kondinin Netball Club look forward to playing on the new surfaces next season. Tennis Courts Maintenance Whilst in town West Coast Synthetic Surfaces professionally swept and cleaned the 4 synthetic tennis courts, taking with them 1.5 tonnes of sand! A big thank you to Drew Wilkins who sprayed the courts before the works were done. The Kondinin Tennis Courts with assistance from the Shire’s Community Grants Program covered the cost of these works.

Kondinin Community Recreation Centre The upgrades to the Kondinin Community Recreation Centre are coming along well. The roof sheeting is now being put up and a number of trade teams are here working on the internal works. This project continues to be on schedule to be completed by early 2019 by ACORP Construction. These extensions have been designed by Rosalie Pech Eva Architects.

AREA 1 (SOUTHERN SECTION OF GARDEN)- The handbags and jeans on the fence, shrubs at rear of garden near to painted tank, the planter box on the men’s toilets, the large sleeper beds, the mulberry tree and the fig tree, the plants behind the stand up sleepers near the fire pit, the rosemary path and turn on the reticulation beds. AREA 2 (NORTHERN SECTION OF GARDEN) - Plants around the nature play area in the pots, beds and path, the plants behind the stand up sleepers and along the fence between garden and nature play area, the succulents in the bath tubs, the planter box on ladies toilet, the pot plants under the kiosk, the planter boxes under the kiosk and turn on the reticulation beds. LOCAL SPORTING CHAMPIONS Who can apply? Young sportsmen and women aged 12—18 can apply.
