PROBLEM WHAT IS WRONG WTH THE CURRENT NPD?

HOW DOES THE NPD BRANDING WORK NOW?

HOW DO I USE THE INFORMATION I FOUND?

HOW DO I ATTRACT PEOPLE TO MY NEW IDEAS?

PROBLEM

The city of Newark, New Jersey is the 20th most dangerous, crime filled city that this country has to offer. The police do a decent job keeping the crime rate steady, to say the least, but their visual brand and therefore their visual reputation is lacking significantly. This results in a lack of authoritative presence and a lack of respect from the public.

LOGO:

HOME PAGE:

BADGE:

- Needs to be easy to see fom far away and when moving quickly- Emphasis on the cohesion- Create a family of logos -for all materials/uses

Above are an abundance of different home pages that I designed until I was able to find one that I thought worked the best. It needed to possess:- easy navigation- personalization- readily updatable info

I first tried to remake their patch, stll utilizing their coat of arms, but by doing this, it became apparent that these things had to be much more modernzed.

DESIGN

MAIN SCREEN:Each time one of the main content boxes are selected, it enlarges while the other boxes shink into a corner. This ehances the information and gives the user a ‘personlized’ and engaging vvvtouch.

FINAL DESIGNS5.

FINAL DESIGNS5.

SCREENS:One thing that was strongly requested, specifically by officers that I interviewed, was better in-car laptop capabilities. So, after much research, I created a all touchscreen based system that allowed for more attention to the road.

BADGE:I removed their old school looking badge and patch and renewed them will stainless steel ‘patch’. This gives a stronger and more modern touch
