Our HistoryIn 1993, anticipating a future home site in

an empty fi eld, we acknowledged our appre-ciation for trees and planned ahead by plant-ing 6 acres of nursery stock. Our goal was to create a forest, adding character and beauty in front of our home, with intentions of selling a few trees for our children’s education fund.

After a few years of growth, we began to sell trees at local tree auctions. We started to realize the potential for a retail tree nursery operation serving our local community. We purchased our fi rst hydraulic tree spade in 1997. As tree sales increased, we planted larger tree stock and ex-panded our varieties of landscape trees.

In 1998, we sold our existing excavation business of 14 years and dedicated our time to the growth and promotion of Dogwood Hills Tree Farm. Our equipment services have expanded to include 4 tree spades! Two are mounted on skid load-ers, which work well for moving smaller trees, and in tight spots. The other two spades are truck mounted, which allow us to transport large diameter trees on the road. These machines give us the capability to move up to 8 inch diameter trees. We also expanded into trimming, shaping, and general tree care by purchasing a boom truck and chipper.

As our three children have grown, they have been instrumental in our decision to expand our inventory and plant addi-tional acreage in trees. Both boys work full time with mom and dad, making it an enjoyable family business.

Our goal here at Dogwood Hills Tree Farm is to become northern Indiana’s premiere provider of specimen landscape trees. We enjoy serving our surrounding communities and interacting with our customers! Trees add value, both aestheti-cally and monetarily to your home or business.

We look forward to your visit! The Ledermans: Todd, Cindy, Joel, Annerose, Kenyon, Sarah
