Op 24 oktober reikt staatssecretaris Pieter van Geel de eerste Woudencertificaten uit aan een

aantal boeren uit de Friese Wouden. Het ‘woudencertificaat’ geeft aan dat de houder ervan boert

op een manier die overeenstemt met het duurzaamheidstraject dat is ontwikkeld door de vereniging

‘Noardlike Fryske Wâlden’ (NFW). Dit duurzaamheidstraject, dat ter plaatse wordt omschreven als

‘kreas en tûk buorkje’ (schoon en slim boeren) behelst een sterke reductie van de mineraleninput in

de melkveehouderij en een gelijktijdige opvoering van de efficiëntie van het mineralengebruik

april 2010

New challenges?

It’s all about transparency and “kloppende keuken” It seems like combining existing scores (like landscape,

environment, cowscore) and seriously going to pay for quality! Rewarding:

Public (climate funds, EU funds, local government funds) More space to maneuver! Private (selling! Dairy companies)

But selling sustainability (and more often local!) means also reconnecting between farmers and factories…and where it’s to difficult they choose for biological (biological is the new mainstream?)
