Ingredients and Finished Formulations. A premier company that is managed by qualified and

experienced Professionals and Technocrats, who pool in their collective expertise to bring out

the best. After having achieved recognition in the field of indenting and contract

manufacturing Sharika has ventured into manufacturing and is successfully running a

distillation plant.

SLPL has been contacted and assigned by some exporters and domestic buyers to synthesize

and develop Beta Lactam and non-sterile Cephalosporin for local and global markets. The

faith shown by these exporters and domestic buyers in our exceptional custom synthesis

capabilities has encouraged us to set up this facility in our premises.

SLPL has an exciting unit with production capacity of 740.00 TPA Solvent productions at

plot no. SP1-6 (B) RIICO Area Sotanala, Behror, District Alwar, Raj. Now they are

proposing to expand unit of Bulk Drugs & Chemical Manufacturing Unit with capacity of

480 TPA.

The activity falls under schedule 5 (f) B Synthetic organic chemicals industry in Notified

industrial area / estate which requires environmental clearance under notification SO 1533

dated 14th

September 2006.

2.3 Need for the project

India with its large talented manpower, cost effective chemical synthesis, legal &

financial framework is poised to become sourcing destination of bulk drugs to the

global markets.

The project is benefitted to fulfill domestic & exports requirements for the

manufacturing of various B-lactam without affecting environmental conditions of the

area.

The pharmaceutical industry in India ranks third in the world in terms of volume and

contributes 10% to the global pharmaceutical production. According to the Department

of Pharmaceuticals, the Indian pharmaceutical industry is pegged at Rs 810 bn, which

includes domestic sales and exports. The industry is the fourteenth-largest in the world

in terms of value and accounted for 1.5% of the global pharmaceutical market. The

industry has a lower share in the global market because Indian products are available at

a price that is 5-50% lower than that in the developed countries.

There will be very good opportunity of employment generation of additional qualified

staff & unqualified workers due to the proposed project

Page 10: PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT - environmentclearance.nic.inenvironmentclearance.nic.in/writereaddata/FormB/TOR/PFR/02_Feb... · PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT For ... SLPL has been contacted and

33

2.4 Demand and Supply Gap

Over the years, the production of bulk drug has made significant progress. The drug &

pharmaceutical industry in India meets around 70% of the country’s demand for bulk

drugs, drug intermediates, pharmaceutical formulations, chemicals, tablets, capsules,

orals & injectable. There are about 250 large pharmaceuticals manufacturers and

suppliers and about 8000 small scale pharmaceutical & drug units which form the core

of the pharmaceutical industry in India. These bulk drugs & pharmaceuticals

manufactures produce the complete range of pharmaceutical formulation i.e. medicines

ready for consumption by patients and about 350 bulk drugs i.e. chemicals having

therapeutic value and used for production of pharmaceutical formulation. Owing to a

significant in Pharmaceuticals exports, India’s USD 3.1 billion pharmaceutical industry

is growing at the rate of 14% per year. It is one of the largest and most advanced among

the developing countries. Even the number of pharmaceuticals exporters,

manufacturers and suppliers in increasing tremendously.

2.5 Employment Generation (Direct or Indirect due to the project)

Project will create direct & indirect employment opportunities within the surrounding

region. Unit will use good faith efforts to employ local people from the nearby villages

depending upon the availability of skilled & un-skilled man-power surrounding the

project site.

In operation phase, along with existing workers the proposed project would require

more workforces of non-technical and technical persons.

3.9 Waste Generation and its Management

3.9.1 Liquid waste Generation and its Management:

The total Liquid Waste generation is of two types

1. Domestic Waste

2. Industrial Process waste

1. Domestic waste:

The Domestic Waste will be generated by the workers working in the factory round a

clock. The same will be disposed of through soak pit.

Total Domestic waste generated will be 4.5KLD.

2. Industrial Process waste

The effluent generated will be treated in Effluent Treatment Plant of capacity 20 m3/day.

The existing capacity of ETP is 6 m3/day& proposed capacity is 20 m

3/day. The

generated effluent will be treated in proposed zero discharge system and the treated

water will be utilized for utility such as in Boiler, cooling towerand gardening.

compriselargely of pains. Besides this, between the plain sectors of the district has

many hillswhere the average altitude is approximately 1600 feet. There is a marked

differencebetween the hills of north east and south, west. While the south-western

hillscomprosong the area of Rajgarh, Alwar&Thanagazi, have fairly dense vegetation.

Thenorth eastern part gives an appearance of barren and rocky.

The Proposed Unit is coming in already Developed RIICO area of Behror. Hence many

industries are working full fledged. The reason of selection of the same area is because

of presence of all required Infrastructure required for Industrial running.

Also Manpower required for production is also available from nearby villages. So there

is no need of development of more infrastructures.

The basic amenities and facilities for industrial development are already present in

nearby area as per requirement of the local people under social development activities.

6. PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE:

6.1 Industrial Area (Processing Area)

from plant and well connected by RIICO roads. Jaipur International airport, is at a

distance of ~120 km in SW direction from the site. Harsoli Railway Station is around ~

34 km in NE direction from site. The area is well connected through roads. The site is

well connected with communication facilities like telephone, fax, post & telegraph,

Tehsil- Behror is ~5.0 km in NE direction and district headquarter- Alwar is ~45.0km,

SE direction from the site.

Behror. Domestic wastewater are being generated from the restshelter, which are being

disposed in soak pit via septic tank. Industrial waste water will be reused after treatment

in ETP
