As a civil engineer candidate, do we need English? Before giving the answer consider the followings:

Turkish meaning

For instance, the term “water hammer” is not directly related the

components which are “water” and “hammer”. It may also happen inside an oil pump. So, here

“water” represent a “fluid”. “Hammer” is a tool and represent “power/force” in this technical term. Hence, the term of “water hammer” means a

pressure increase inside a pipeline or a hydraulic machinery due to a sudden stop.

We will explain the meaning of the technical terms without using our language. Please do not ask for “Turkish meaning” of the words. Instructor is not a dictionary. If you think that you really need a dictionary please have one with you
