The film is centralised on a man. His wife killed their baby after a long time of depression. She can’t stand the child anymore. One night the baby starts cry and she takes a pillow and soffocate the little girl.

The film starts with a man on the top of a cliff. He is sad. There is just the sound of the wind. Suddenly we can hear a baby cries and a flashback begins. The camera is in a dark room, a living room probably. There is just the moon light and a light from another room. Suddenly the baby is not crying anymore. A woman appears from the baby’s room. She is wearing a nightie. She is holding a pillow. She seems shocked. A man arrives from another room. He is calm. He asks to the woman how she made the baby stop crying. She doesn’t reply. He becomes to be worried. He asks her other questions. She doesn’t reply. He runs to the baby’s room. The camera remains in the living room. The woman sits on the sofa slowly. She puts her hands on the face. She is crying maybe. The camera leaves the living room and goes to the baby’s room. It stops out of the door. We can see the man on the floor on his knees. He is crying. The flashback ends. The camera is on the cliff again. The man walks. He looks calm. Suddenly he jumps.

Synopsis

Flashback. Baby cries. She stops.Dark room. Shocked woman in the living room. Man arrives and then goes to the daughter’s room.

The manJames

The man has to be 20/30ish. He is happy of his life. He loves his wife and he is really happy to have a daughter. He always wanted a family. He has a new job as teacher in English lit at university. He loves his job. He always wanted to teach. It’s a great moment of his life. He has time for his family. They are part of the middle class. He is from Manchester and he studied in Cambridge at university where he met his wife and they live there now.

The womanCaroline

She is 20/30ish. She met her husband at university. She is from a little town near Cambridge. She always wanted the best for her. Best clothes, schools and boys. She was a normal girl. She had many friends. Since she was a child was very independent. She always said she didn’t need a man or a family to be happy. She wanted a career. When she met her husband all her prospects changed. She works in an office as secretary in an important office. She got pregnant not long after the wedding. She hoped to have more time for their relatonship and her career, but the baby arrived very soon. She loved her baby most of the times, but she wasn’t ready for her now. She didn’t want to be awake all the night everynight because the baby cries. She wasn’t ready to take care of a child now. Most of the times she was depressed. She was esasperated. One night she didn’t control herself...

Location

The locations in the film will the a cliff in England and I’m asking to some friends if I can use their house here in Cambridge or in case I will probably use my accomodation as the house of the couple.

Music and Sound

During the film there will not be any kind of music. On the cliff there will be just the sound of the wind. In the flashback there will be dialogue and silence. A sad depressing music there will be at the end of the film with the titles. For the crying sound I’m thinking to use a real baby because probably the sounds I can find on the Internet wouldn’t be good enough to make it seem real.
