When good placements go bad...
• Indifferent mentorship;• Interpersonal difficulties;• Lack of opportunity to achieve;• Not glamorous work;• Enthusiasm;• Professional behaviours;• Seriously early mornings, lonnnggg daaaaays,
nights.

• As much as we want to support you, primarily we have a
responsibility for the protection of the general

What do we do...?
• Criminal record check- Independent Safeguarding Authority;
• You could pass everything on the course, but if you’re not a person of good name and good character, the NMC may not accept you onto the register;
• Academic Conduct Panel;• Fitness to Practice.
What does this mean?
• We rely on you to be honest, trustworthy and reliable, and to uphold the good name of nursing and the University;
• The difference between making a mistake and being dishonest;
• Behaviour on and off campus, i.e. social networking, attendance, mobile phone use/ abuse, talking in class.
