I am an educator interested in the way Maker Culture can revolutionize formal education. I research, design and develop activities to foster a creative, hands-on approach to empower learning and find a conjunction between technologies and humanities.

I am used to work in international environments, across different departments (marketing, academic staff, outreach, students) in order to find tailored solutions to support and enhance educational needs through new and emerging technologies.

My mission is learning engagement: because learning should speak through different languages and media, encouraging students to express their potential.

I joined Ravensbourne to start working on learning technologies, with an eye towards Maker Culture. I work with local schools in London thanks to our outreach program, but I have also attended several important events in the world of Making, such as: the Maker Faire Paris, FAB10, the Maker Faire Rome running workshops for children and adults. I research about the impact of technologies on learning and I develop activities and training sessions which involve the use of emerging technologies.

I have created and run several iterations of the "Create your interactive t-shirt" workshop.It was a wearable technology workshop for children using littleBits and Bare conductive paint.

Projects

Connected birdhouse

The Connected Birdhouse is a project realized during a workshop about “Internet of Trees” at the Domaine de Boisbuchet (France) in August 2014. The concept was to realize a connected object that could link humans and nature.

The connected birdhouse was a birdhouse connected to a nest-lamp via an Arduino Yún. When the bird entered into the birdhouse a weight sensor read the presence of the bird and according to its size sent an input to the nest-lamp. Depending on the size of the bird the lamp turned on with a different color code.
