One of the priority areas: support for sustainable, innovative and competitive aquaculture. Establishment of new aquaculture businesses and development of existing fish farming ( 269 million EUR )
InnoAquaTech project - Cross-border development and transfer of innovative and sustainable aquaculture technologies in the South Baltic area
The European Commisson’s Blue Growth agenda for the Baltic Sea Region identifies aquaculture as one of the most promising sectors of the region’s maritime economy in terms of growth and job potential. Special emphasis will be given to recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and innovative combinations of RAS systems with e.g. plant production (aquaponic systems) and/or renewable energy production.

First Polish Atlantic salmon farm
Investment co-financed by EU, with a value of
13 million Euro, realized by the Polish
company “Jurassic Salmon Ltd.”
Production target: 1000 tons of Atlantic
salmon. The use of innovative technology with
saline geothermal waters for rearing and
farming of salmon.
Fish health and welfare :
• Transfer of know-how in the field of specific and nonspecific immunoprophylaxis
• Prebiotics and probiotics in fish feeds
• Improvements in the treatment and prophylaxis of diseases of

Genetics and biotechnology :
• Roe / stocking material of selected lines of salmonids (rainbow trout, brown trout, alpine trout), whitefish, pike-perch

• Techniques of triploidization • EM (effective microorganisms) in water purifying
• EM in increasing digestibility of fish feed and in immunostimulation
