Once upon a time, a tiny eaglet fell out of his nest in a tall tree near a farm, but landed safely in a chicken coop below. He found himself surrounded by little chicks and thought they were his siblings. He grew up like them, learning to scratch for insects and peck at the seeds the farmer scattered in the barnyard. The young eagle's wings and feathers began to grow, but he never perceived himself to be anything more than a member of his chicken family. One day an older eagle, soaring in the sky, spotted him in the barnyard. The eagle swooped down and had a face-to-face talk with the young eagle. "You are not a chicken," he said, "You are an eagle. You are not supposed to hop around on the ground looking for bugs. This is not your life. You are meant to fly in the heavens and ride the wind."
These words opened the little eagle's eyes to who he really was and gave him the desire to join his new friend above the clouds. He spread his wings and, after a few attempts to lift off, flew to the nearest tree. With each try he flew farther and higher; before long, he mounted up with the wind and disappeared into the vastness and freedom of the sky. This story illustrates how we as believers are meant to live up to our God-given potential. It also teaches us that the foundation for our behavior and success comes from our understanding of who we are in Christ. Wear red with me this Sunday as we celebrate the gift we have in the Holy Spirit — a reminder of who we are in Christ and an encourager to “fly” and “soar”! Our young graduates are a testament and reminder to the means of grace God gives us in His Spirit. We all have an access every day to learn whose we are, a how we can have a new identity and discover new heights! God is good indeed! their hard work and dedication to the Fresh Start service. Another round of thanks to the many volunteers who assist
with the computer slides and sound system and more in both services. Finally, thank you, members and friends of PRUMC for
your incredible support, love, and encouragement you continue to give me.

METHODIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP The Branson trip is coming soon and everyone is getting excited… really excited! We have made enough plans to keep us busy all week long. There’s the Passion Play on Saturday night, we’ll visit a church in Eureka Springs on Sunday morning, Dolly Parton Stampede on Sunday night, mission work with Jesus was Homeless on Monday, Sights and Sounds Theatre production of Samson, Shepherd of the Hills and much more. Last week at MYF we were talking about all the things that we are getting to do. A few things are just for fun, but the majority of what we are doing in Branson and Eureka Springs is aimed at spiritual growth for these youth. We also discussed how blessed and how grateful we are to Pleasant Retreat for supporting the youth in the way that you do. This trip would not be possible if it weren’t for the generosity of those who support us financially and by prayer. I really think that lives will be changed and hearts will be opened on this trip. It’s a wonderful thing to know that because of people like you, the love of Jesus will continue to grow not just for our youth, but for those that they come into contact with outside these walls as well. Please continue to pray for us as the trip nears. We have 422 miles to travel in two vans and a truck. We have 3 young ladies, Emily, Savannah, and Ellie who will be joining us for the first time as they transition out of the children’s division into MYF. We have 19 youth and 3 adults going on this trip, and I have also appointed 2 of our older youth, Jen and Zach, to be youth leaders on this trip, as they have shown the qualities needed to influence the younger kids in a very positive way… and they are very excited about that! We have another young lady, Taylor, who will be joining us for the first time. So there’s plenty to pray for. If you think of anything else, write it down and pray about it! We can feel your prayers. I can’t say enough how much we appreciate your support. This is a very generous and loving church. I think it’s pretty awesome that God chose all of us to work together as the Body of Christ at Pleasant Retreat. He may be up to something good, and there’s no doubt that He knows what He’s doing. Thank you all again for your support, and may God continue to bless this church!!
-Jeremy
In April, ten of our
Children's Division
kiddos brought big
smiles to the faces
of those we were
able to meet/greet with a joyful noise:
Helen Black, Dona Wilkerson,
Bertha Benson, Bob & Virginia
Baker. As we left Park Place, we
stopped to bring a song to those
eating in the commons area. One
song wasn't enough as they
clapped and asked for more,
which we gladly obliged them! We
hope to make this an annual service
project and one of the ways our children
learn to pay it forward while praising
God. Thanks to Jeremy Dick for serving
as our chauffeur and guitarist.
Mr. & Mrs. Bret Hart would like to
extend an invitation to the
