Inspection of CattleThe cattle are at the ranch. We welcomeyou to come view the cattle and visit us prior to the sale.

Terms and ConditionsTerms of the sale are cash. Every animal will be sold to the highest bidder. Announced changes in the catalog information on sale day take precedence over printed material in this catalog. All cattle are the buyers property as soon as sold and will be cared for a reasonable length of time a the buyers risk. Any person attending the sale does so at his own risk. Neither the sale management, owners nor any person connected with this sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.

Registration and TransferRegistration certificates will be transferred to buyers upon request at the sellers expense. When making settlement, buyers must give complete written name and address information for making transfers.

TruckingAll bulls will be kept free of charge until April 1st., 2014. At this time, all bulls will be delivered to in state customers at now charge. We will make every effort to assist our out of state customers with trucking arrangements.

Welcome to the 6th Annual Platte Valley Simmentals Bull SaleI would like to start off by saying thanking you for having interest in Platte Valley Simmen-tals and our genetics. What a wild roller coaster it has been lately in the cattle industry. Feeder cattle have seen all time highs and bred females are following the same trend. Now, more than ever, its important to have the right genetics in place in your herd to take advan-tage of these times that we are experiencing and I believe you have come to the right place to do so.

These bulls have been developed on a ration of triticale hay, alfalfa, some distillers as well as corn. They have been fed so as not to burn them out but to bring them along slow-ly and in the right way. You wont find a fat bull here and this is something that we pride ourselves on. When you take one of our bulls home we are confident that you wont see the normal “ melting down” that you do with some others. This year we have added a set of open heifers to the sale this year and honestly these are some of the best that we have ever had here in terms of consistent quality throughout the whole group as well as superb performance in all. Some of these females we feel like have futures as both mature cows but also as show heifers. They have been bred with the same mindset as our bulls, to put pounds on the ground, having excellent structure, as well as having stayability in mind.

We have changed things up this year and all the bulls will be semen tested before the sale and those that are younger if they don’t pass will sell with our normal gaurentee that we have used in the past that they sell contingent on passing a semen test. The rest is busi-ness as usual. We guarantee our bulls 60 days from turnout for breeding and soundness. If you have any questions health wise you can speak to my wife Dr. Emily Buettner D.V.M.

This was a mating that might be my favorite. A Makers Mark out of a Hooks Shear Force cow. This guy came out at 75 pounds and even

Year in and year out this guys Dream On dam raises great bulls for us and just packs the muscle to them and this guy is no exception.

Loaded with muscle and hit the ground at 75#this will be one to keep an eye on.

A 3/4 blood simm. Out of the pb bull a step up. The High selling bull in denver a few years back. He’s noted for his calving ease. Plus the dam goes back to goldmine. Calving ease on both sides. You’ll like this

dude.

Another Sundance calf these guys will be able to go out and put pounds on the ground as well as make replacements.

This guy is loaded with potential!

Probably one of the top 3 bulls and definitely one of the best bulls we have raised here. I haven’t had one that puts it all together quite like this guy. You talk about structural soundness, muscle, guts this guy puts it all together and his numbers just reconfirm what you see. He had one of the highest weaning weights of all the bulls we had this

year. This guy has a very bright future

This guy is a real nice, stout featured bull out of our current PB herd sire Detinator (go to loeffelholzfarms.com to see bull). This is bull is great structured, big bellied,

and one that will put some pounds on for you. It don’t matter if your in the business to raise great sim x replacements or cattle that will put on the lbs to go to the sale barn, be confident in this guy. He is out of our best 1/2 blood sim cow, she is one that has

her calves on her own each year and milks like a Holstein.

This guys has got some of the best performance on the sale. The high weaning weight bull in our herd and had one of the lowest birthweights to boot. I cant get

enough of these predestined calves wether it be the numbers or the calving ease or just straight up performance. This guy fits the bill and has a powerfull Pioneer daugh-

ter out of our lead donor to back it all up. Look this guy up hes gonna be special.

This guy had a slow start as his mom raised him on her own after having an accident 3 days before he was born and had her side tore open. Don’t let his performance fool you he just got shorted as the cow didn’t milk after getting sewn back up. The lowest

BW bull we have he will be a heifer bull for sure.

One of my top favorite bulls and sadly our only Priority bull on the sale. This guy will go on to do it all. If you are looking to make those fancy replacements or just put the extra pounds on you calves this guy fits either direction. His dam goes back to TNT
