2017 SCHEDULE NOTES The Steelers are slated to appear in fi ve nationally televised primetime games during the NFL’s 2017 regular season, and on Christmas Day, this season. Pittsburgh will open up its 2017 regular-season schedule at the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 10 (CBS, 1 p.m.). The Steelers will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 on Sunday, Sept. 17 for its 2017 regular-season home opener at Heinz Field (FOX, 1 p.m.). The Steelers’ fi ve nationally televised primetime games are scheduled in a span of seven weeks, including three at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh’s three home nationally televised primetime games in 2017 consist of hosting the Tennessee Titans in Week 11 on Thursday Night Football (NBC, 8:25 p.m.) on Nov. 16, the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 26 in Week 12 (NBC, 8:30 p.m.) and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football in Week 14 on Dec. 10 (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). The Steelers’ two other primetime matchups in 2017 will occur on the road in Weeks 8 and 13. The team will travel to face the Detroit Lions in Week 8 (Oct. 29) for a Sunday Night Football tilt (NBC, 8:30 p.m.), and at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13 (Dec. 4) for a Monday Night Football game (ESPN, 8:30 p.m.) For the second consecutive year, and for the second time in franchise history, the Steelers will play on Christmas Day. Pitts-burgh will travel to Houston for a Monday, Dec. 25 matchup at the Texans (NBC, 4:30 p.m.). The Steelers’ bye week will be on Nov. 5 (Week 9).

STEELERS HALL OF HONOR

The Steelers announced their inaugural Hall of Honor class on Aug. 29 at an event in the PNC Champions Club at Heinz Field. Twenty-seven members were announced in the class who will be inducted during a formal ceremony during Alumni Weekend (Nov. 25-26), and the inaugural class will be introduced during halftime of the Steelers game vs. the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 26. They will be part of a display to be located inside the FedEx Great Hall at Heinz Field. The Steelers announced plans for a Hall of Honor on Aug. 1. The Hall of Honor will induct former players, coaches, and front offi ce personnel who were integral in creating and sustaining the franchise’s success dating back to when the team was founded in 1933.

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (2nd round, 62nd overall): Played collegiately at the University of Southern California...totaled 213 catches for 3,092 yards with 25 touchdown catches in 40 games played (39 starts).

RB James Conner (3rd round, 105th overall): Finished his Uni-versity of Pittsburgh career second on the school’s all-time charts for rushing yards (3,733), total touchdowns (56) and rushing touchdowns (52) charts, while setting Atlantic Coast Conference records in total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns.

QB Joshua Dobbs (4th round, 135th overall): Compiled a 23-12 record as a starting quarterback at the University of Tennessee, including 3-0 in Bowl games...his collegiate numbers include 9,360 yards of total off ense (7,138 passing, 2,160 rushing and 62 receiving), while setting school records for career rushing yards by a quarterback, career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (32) and single-season rushing scores by a quarterback (12 in 2016).

DB Brian Allen (5th round, 173rd overall): Appeared in 42 games at the University of Utah, making 12 starts, and tallied 62 tackles (44 solo), 14 passes defensed and fi ve interceptions.

PITTSBURGH - QB Landry Jones threw a game-winning 26-yard touchdown pass to WR Cobi Hamilton in overtime to lift the Steelers to a 27-24 victory over the Browns. The Steelers fell behind early, as QB Robert Griffi n threw two touchowns to give the Browns a 14-0 lead midway through the fourth quarter. After a Browns’ fumble in Steelers’ territory, Jones threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to RB DeAngelo Williams prior to halftime. Pittsburgh trailed 14-7 at the break. After a scoreless third quarter, Williams scored on a one-yard run to tie the game 14-14. Jones threw an 11-yard touchdown to WR Demarcus Ayers miday through the fourth quarter to give Pittsburgh a 21-14 lead. Late in the fourth quarter, RB George Atkinson III scored on a fi ve-yard run to tie the game 21-21. In overtime, K Cody Parkey made a 34-yard fi eld goal to give Cleveland a 24-21 advantage. Jones then led the team on a nine-play, 75-yard drive that he capped off with the game-winning touchdown pass to Hamilton.

ROGERS RECORDS FIRST 100

WR Eli Rogers registered the fi rst 100-yard receiving game of his NFL career in Week Nine at Baltimore in 2016, fi nishing with 103 yards in six receptions. His six catches tied a single-game career-high (six at Washington, Sept. 12, 2016).

In Week 10 vs. Dallas in 2016, Rogers caught four passes for 42 yards, including a three-yard touchdown pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger in the fi rst quarter, his second touchdown catch of the season and his career.

Rogers led the Steelers with 75 receiving yards on fi ve catches, and caught his third touchdown of the season, a 24-yard pass from QB Ben Roethlisberger, in the fourth quarter to give the Steelers a 24-20 lead in Week 15 at Cincinnati in 2016.

The Steelers acquired veteran TE Vance McDonald via trade with the San Francisco 49ers on Aug. 29.

Bell totaled a game-high 137 scrimmage yards to go along with two touchdowns, his sixth career multi-touchdown game, in the team’s AFC North division clinching 31-27 win vs. Baltimore in Week 16. Bell rushed for a single-game Steelers record 236 yards in Week 14 at Buff alo while tying a team record with three rushing touchdowns and his 298 scrimmage yards marked the second-most in team history. TUITT TIES SINGLE-GAME MARK DE Stephon Tuitt tied a single-game career-high with 2.0 sacks in Week 11 at Cleveland of 2016, his third career multi-sack game. Tuitt was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 11 performance, his fi rst such accolade, and became the Steeler to receive the honor since Troy Polamalu in 2013 (Week 12). Along with a sack in Week 11, he posted his second career sack streak (three games, Sept. 20-Oct. 1, 2015). Tuitt was credited with a half-sack of Buff alo QB Tyrod Taylor in the fi rst quarter of Week 14’s game at Buff alo, increasing his season total to 3.5 (11.0 in his NFL career).

DUPREE IN YEAR TWO LB Bud Dupree made his fi rst start of the 2016 season in Week 14 at Buff alo and recorded the fi rst multi-sack game of his NFL career, bringing down Buff alo QB Tyrod Taylor twice. Dupree returned to the fi eld in Week 11 and appeared in each of the team’s fi nal seven games, making 24 total tackles, to go along with a career high 4.5 sacks, six quarterback hits, fi ve tackles for losses and a forced fumble. He led all AFC linebackers with 4.5 sacks in December/January.

HADEN JOINS THE STEELERS The Steelers signed CB Joe Haden to a three-year contract on Aug. 30. Haden, a two-time Pro Bowl selection following the 2013 and 2014 seasons, joins the Steelers after spending his fi rst seven seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns. WILLIAMS LED THE ‘D’ LB Vince Williams led the Steelers’ defense in tackles in back-to-back games (Weeks Four-Five) of 2016. In Week Four, Williams made his fi rst start of the 2016 season vs. Kansas City on Sunday Night Football, and tallied a game and single-game personal best 15 tackles (13 solo). He was also redited with a sack in the second quarter, his fi rst of the season, increasing his career total to 1.5. Williams led the defense with a game high of 9 tackles (8 solo) in Week Five against the New York Jets, to go along with a sack, three stops for losses and two quarterback hits.

BURNS ON THE CORNER CB Artie Burns started nine of 16 games played in his rookie year in 2016 and tied for the team lead with three interceptions. His three picks also placed him tied for the lead among the 2016 NFL rookie class:

Watt made their NFL debuts and each helped their respective units to lead the team to a 20-12 win at the New York Giants. The Giants opened up the scoreboard with field goals from Aldrick Rosas and Mike Nugent in the opening two quarters before Steelers’ K Chris Boswell connected on a 48-yard fi eld goal to make the score 6-3 in the second quarter. Pittsburgh’s special teams unit sparked the team prior to halftime. CB Mike Hilton recovered a muff ed punt of the Giants at their 28-yard line. On the team’s fi rst play of the drive, Dobbs connected with WR Cobi Hamilton for a 28-yard touchdown to give the Steelers a 10-9 lead heading into halftime. Trailing 13-3, Williams fi elded a punt and burst through the coverage unit of the Falcons to the end zone for a 64-yard score. Pittsburgh QB Bart Houston connected with WR Justin Hunter for the Steelers’ go-ahead score from six yards out in the fourth quarter to lift the team to a 17-13 win. Atlanta produced three consecutive scoring drives to begin the game - a touchdown and two fi eld goals – their only points of the game as the Steelers’ defense closed out their ensuring 11 possessions. Steelers rookie RB James Conner , appearing in his first NFL game at Heinz Field, rushed for 98 yards on 20 carries (4.9 average) to lead all running backs. Pittsburgh S Jordan Dangerfi eld hauled in two interceptions in the second half – one off of Matt Simms in the third quarter and his second of the game off of Alek Torgersen in the final quarter of the game. LB Anthony Chickillo was responsible for two of the defense’s four sacks.

Pittsburgh scored nine unanswered points to take a two-point advantage, 15-13, late in the third quarter. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Rookie QB Joshua Dobbs led the Steelers to a come-from-behind v ictory at the Carolina Panthers in the team’s 2017 preseason finale. Trailing 14-10, with 49 seconds remaining in the game, Dobbs and the Steelers’ off ense drove 53 yards on fi ve plays in 47 seconds and the rookie signal caller scampered in for a one-yard touchdown with two seconds remaining to give Pittsburgh the 17-14 win. Carolina scored the fi rst points of the game with RB Fozzy Whitaker fi nding the end zone on a four-yard run in the fi rst quarter. The Steelers took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter, following a K Chris Boswell 35-yard field goal, and a 58-yard connection from Dobbs to WR Justin Hunter. The Panthers carried a 14-10 lead after a 13-yard touchdown connection from Joe Webb to WR Damiere Byrd prior to halftime through the Steelers’ finale drive of the game. Dobbs finished the game completing 16-of-23 passing for 212 yards with a touchdown pass for a 113.0 passer rating.
