Socrates (469 399 BC)
Lived in Athens during the 5th
century. Was a soldier during the Peloponnesian War and later worke
sculptor.
Refused to accept any payment for his services.
Attracted many young men who flocked in great numbers to
knowledge from him.
Was sentenced to death in 399 B.C., drank hemlock and latesurrounded by his friends and followers.

Teachings of Plato - Dialogues Early stage :
- Uses the questioning method known as the Socratic method- During a question-and-answer session, the expert (teacher)
place and the students sit opposite him.
Middle stage :
- Still using the Socratic method, but focusing on Platos own
concerned with issues related to knowledge, form, soul, andtheory.
Final stage :
- Emphasis is given more to metaphysics and the logical assum
Platos ideas as introduced in the middle stage.

He recommended the kind of education system and curriculudeemed suitable. The ideal society is said to consist of 3 stagepeople :
Guardians. The educated strata responsible for the administthe affairs of the nation.
Traders Craftsmen. The second and third stages are less educated or
uneducated and work as apprentices.

Aristotle (384 322 B.C.)
Was a Greek philosopher who was a student of and teacherAlexander The Great.
When he was 17 years old, he was sent by his guardian, Proxcomplete his education at the Academy.
He is the most suitable person to head the Academy when Pbut then the position was given to Platos favourite student,
Speusippus. Following this incident, Aristotle resigned and set up his ow
in Lyceum.
Was definitely very committed and diligent in his teaching.
