Prayer of Preparation:

As we gather as God's people let us pray together:

God of love and peace, you know what we think and feel.

Touch our hearts that our thoughts and actions may be good so that we

may love you and honour you, through Jesus Christ our Lord, AMEN.

The Summary of the Commandments:

‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the

Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your

mind, and with all your strength.’ Jesus said: ‘This is the great and first

commandment. And a second is like it: you shall love your neighbour as

The Confession

Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, confident in God's

forgiveness.

God of mercy and grace,

we have sometimes thought wrong things,

and done wrong things and

we have not always loved each other as we should.

Prayer of the Day

Eternal God,

you have taught us that the night is far spent

their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were

foolish, and five were wise. 3 When the foolish took their lamps, they

took no oil with them; 4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.

5 As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept.

6 But at midnight there was a shout, 'Look! Here is the bridegroom!

Come out to meet him.' 7 Then all those bridesmaids got up and

trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of

THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD AND THE COMMUNION

{Celebrant} We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.

We who are many are one body,

For we all share in the one bread.

The Choir sings the Agnus Dei

Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in

remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith

with thanksgiving.

Baptised Christians who receive communion in their own church

are invited to share communion with us.

Communion wine may be received:

(a) from the common cup from the first of the two Eucharistic Assistants.

(b) by intinction from the second of the Eucharistic Assistants where a small part

of the wafer is carefully dipped in the wine, or

(c) from an individual glass on request from the first Eucharistic Assistant.

Or you may choose to receive the wafer only (Communion in one kind).
