your product?

How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?

Digital technology- What

equipment/software packages did you use to produce your production?

Camera Tripod & Track Photoshop Final Cut Garage Band

The use of the tripod helped us gain different shots and camera angles such as a tilt and the track also helped the camera record the scenes smoothly rather than being shaky if it was hand-held. The use of final cut helped the putting together of our film easier to manage and the transactions helped improve the quality and made it look more professional. Photoshop was used to create the logo. It was the best software to use as we could start our logo from scratch instead of having to use templates or examples which also meant we could be creative and make our logo represent our film genre.

The use of the camera will help us record different scenes and include different camera angles and shots to help improve our quality and look more experienced. The tripod and track will help our clips be recorded smoothly. The use of photoshop will help when making our album cover as we can remove imperfections with the spot-healing tool and the different effects such as surface blur to make our faces look more soft. Final cut will make it easier to put our pieces together and add different transactions into shots, along with being linked with grarage band, it will make it much easier to sync the music with the video so it looks like we are actually singing

and not just lip-syncing.Post production

- What software did you use to create your production?

- Discuss specific features of the software.

Photoshop Final Cut IMovie

The use of Photoshop helped us create out own unique logo. Final Cut and iMovie helped us put the finishing pieces to our clip such as transactions and sound effects

Using Photoshop in the creation of our album cover will help cut out any imperfections and let us add in detail to make it look professional like something you would see on sale in public. The use of Final Cut and iMovie will help us manage the lip syncing to fit in with the music soundtrack.

Research and Planning- What tasks did you

complete when preparing to film your sequence?

- How did your planning help the smooth progression of your film?

Timetoast Timeline Risk Assessment Analysis Audience Research Script Call Sheet Props Storyboard

Using the Timeline we could keep track on the tasks we had to complete and helped us find out what we expected to complete within each lesson, giving us good time-keeping and to prevent us falling back on work. The risk assessment helped us figure out what precautions we needed to take with the different pieces of equipment to prevent accidents. Creating the analysis of a clip in the same genre as ours helped give us ideas on what we could

Using another timeline will help keep the group updated and aware of what has already been done and what needs to be done to ensure we have good time-keeping and don’t fall back. The use of another risk assessment will help us see what we need to be aware of and what things can be manageable, for example if we use the track in public again we need to make sure nobody will fall over it. An analysis will help us get a deeper look into the genre we are looking into

include in our sequence and give us a more detailed guide in the type of genre and props and scenes usually related to Film Noir. Doing the audience research meant we could find what the audiences liked, disliked and expected from the genre so we could add into our sequence that would make them approve of it. The script made it easier for us to remember our lines and make the recording run faster and smoother, it also helped our group look more professional having our own script typed up. The call sheet showed us what we expected to do outside of college hours during our recording time so we could be prepared and knew who was in charge of doing what. The storyboard was a great help as it made it easier for us to know what we were videoing and what types of scenes there would be and shown what needed to be recorded which also linked to

so we can get an insight to the type of things we need to include in our music video to help it become successful. Audience research will help us gain an insight into the type of stuff we need to include in our music video such as props and camera shots to make the audience approve of it. A script will come in handy for the lip syncing so we can rehearse our words in advance. The storyboard can be used for us to show the changes is scenes and help our imaginations explore to what we want to do in our music video piece.

Using conventions of real media texts

- Which texts did you analyse?

- Did you take any inspiration from the conventions found from your research?

Sunset Blvd Taxi Driver momento

Watching the variety of opening sequences helped us get an insight into the type of ideas included in opening sequences, such as the tilt angle at the begining

Creativity- were our ideas for your portfolio imaginative and unique or did you adhere to conventions?
