was established in 1974.
It provides a platform for the budding talents in the fields of music and dance and other
performing arts. Its programmes present an amalgamation of amateur and professional
artists. Maestros like the
Late Ustad Allah Rakha, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma,
and several well-known playback singers like that of
Kavita Krishnamuthy, Udit Narayan, Kumar Shanu, Bali Brahmabhat,Pinaz
Masani, Shaan, Illa Arun, Preetiyand Pinky, Aryan Vaid and Reshma Bombaywala
have performed and enthralled the audiances under the auspices of PAS.
The activities of the society begin with inaugural event Sargam, followed by Talent
Parade which is a dancing and singing event. ‘Serenade’ an interesting, humour laced
activity in which society plays the Cupid by providing young ones the opportunity to
express their feeling in the most hilarious ways, besides students dedicates their
appreciations of proessors with sher-o-shaeri . It also organises an intercollegiate fashion
show, Enchante’, besides events like Antakshri and JAM are also organised by the Society.

The Performing Arts Society is the largest among all societies functioning in Sydenham. It has lions share
in the Brouhaha every year. This year i.e. academic year 2014-15; some important highlights are worth
mentioning.
The Society’ activities began with Orientation on 20th July 2014

After the Opening ceremony the significance of the extracurricular activities in the college life the students
was highlighted by the prof. In charge, Quadri Madam, Dr. Bhide, the chafe guest encouraged and wished
the PAS success and then the performances began.
First performance was put up by the PASite Bhavesh More Playing JAL TARANG, the classic
instrument and the audience went gaga!

Students enthralled by Chutki!
The jewel in the crown of PAS was ‘Crank Dat’ –the street dance competition of
international standards, which was held on 18th January 2015 at the Phoenix Mills
compound. The vent was presented in association with Indian B-Boying Federation. 15
teams from all over the nation participated with full energy and enthusiasm. One team had
an Italian dancer in their team who enjoyed it immensely. More than 10000 shoppers,
visitors and the street dance enthusiasts from all over Mumbai and participants supporters
gathered to watch the event and were enthralled by the performing teams. The crowed of
shoppers was elated to see such electrifying performances. The participating teams kept
everyone entertained throughout, until 10:00 p.m.

Adding to the excitement, there was the cast of upcoming film‘ Hawaizaada : Mr.
Ayushman Khurrana & Ms. Pallavi Sharda who came promote their movie, could do

On 14th Nov. We started our journey with a bang! We went to Balbhavan, Charni Road, to spend
quality time with the inmates. We distributed chocolates, biscuits and Idlis to them. It was followed by
interaction day-to-day living of these disadvantaged children, which was followed by singing songs and
dancing, mimicry etc. to rejoice them. Since then a few fellows from among us keep visiting them.
PAS on Children’s Day at Bal Bhavan ,Charni Road
On 17th Nov we took up another social cause which is so close to our Honorable Prime Minister Shri
Narendra Modi - Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ ; as a mark of respect to him. ‘That day we , along with the
Prof. in Charge cleaned up the whole of Churchgate Railway Station, just imagine it! We offered roses to
daily commuters to make them know that new generations will never let go of these essential values.
Besides, we offered sweets to the Safai Karmcharis, thanked them for the daily grind they go through
every day to keep our surroundings clean. They were very happy and it was really a fulfilling experience
for us. This event was organised along with ‘Sakal ‘the Marathi Daily. Our Principal, Dr. AnnaSaheb
Khemnar was really glad and proud to see the students giving priority to social causes he encouraged us to
keep up with working for social causes.
