(The last Mass out at our chapel in Melrose before summer break will be on May 20th. God-willing we will start up with Mass out there again in the fall, but we need people who can commit to supporting and building up the community

in Melrose. The Blessed Sacrament is still reserved in the St. Catherine’s Melrose chapel which is open for prayer 24/7).

Altar Server Training / Entrenamiento de Monaguillo

If you are currently an altar server or are interested in becoming one, there is an upcoming training

session on Saturday, June 2nd at 2PM here at Sacred Heart Church. To be eligible to become an altar

server, you must have received the sacrament of 1st Holy Communion. This training is mandatory!

Bibles, Brothers and Brews Meeting!! The next meeting for Bibles, Brothers and Brews will take place on Thursday, May 24th at 6PM in the

parish library. We look forward to seeing everyone there to join in fellowship with each other and the

Word of God!

CCD Registration / Registración para Catecismo

We are now registering for CCD classes, Kindergarten through Confirmation through adult/RCIA,

for the 2018-2019 year. If you would like to register your child or yourself, please visit the parish

office during office hours and fill out a registration form at your convenience. Remember, classes

start in August so take advantage and register early!

Estamos ya haciendo las registraciones para las platicas de catecismo del año que viene, grados

Kínder a Confirmación, para año 2018-2019. Si quieres registrase o registrar a su niño/s, por

favor visita la oficina de la parroquia y llena una forma de registración cuando puedas.

Sacred Heart Prayer Circle

If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, please contact the church office at (575)763-6947.

We will place that individual that is in need of prayer into our prayer circle. Parishioners of Sacred

Heart Church will then pray for those individuals to Almighty God. This is a wonderful ministry and

privilege for us to be able to pray for you. Please do not go another day without someone praying for

you or someone you know that truly needs it!

There will be a Mission Trip for the members of Sacred Heart Youth

Group on Wednesday, June 6th until Sunday, June 10th. This

Mission will take place in Taos, New Mexico at San Francisco de

Woman’s Group Meeting!

The next meeting of the Parish Women’s

group will be on Thursday May 24th at

6:30PM in the parish library. We will be

honoring the Virgin Mary and the Holy

Rosary. Pray, learn and discuss while

making your own Rosary bracelet and

enjoying fellowship among Catholic women.

Hospitality Ministry! Are you a kind

and loving person? Then please help with greeting and hospitality ministry!! We need volunteers who can wel-come people into our parish at all the Sunday Masses. Please call the parish office at 575-763-6947.

Archdiocese of Santa Fe Annual Catholic Appeal His Mercy Endures Forever... Our Parish has to give $37,000 to support the work of the whole archdiocese.

So far $27,147 has been pledged and $20,402 paid. Thank you to those who have given!!!

But this means our current short-fall is approximately $9,853 which will come out of our Parish savings if people don’t contribute.

Also, of over 1,200 families in our Parish, so far only 98(!) families have participated or even pledged anything. Please help and please do not excuse yourself. Give $1 if that’s all you can.

Men’s Church League Softball Season!

It’s that time again for church league softball. If you

are interested in playing for the men’s church softball

team, please call the church office during office hours

and sign up. If you have previously signed up, please

do so again due to our computer crashing. The earlier

we can get a team together, the earlier we can start

practice and prepare for the year!

The food pantry operates every Saturday of the

month. Anyone interested in volunteering, please

come at 8:30AM!

We are also very much in need of volunteers every

Friday morning to help prepare for the food pantry on

Saturday.

We are in need of volunteers drivers for food box

deliveries!!!

This is a truly beautiful ministry; an essential part of living

the Gospel and really helping many in need here in our

community. The Food Pantry helps literally hundreds of

families in this area. If you are interested, please call

The Food Pantry is currently in need of the following items:

Kids toothbrushes, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, and kids drinks.

Come and be a part of this incredible ministry and service to

the poor that your very own parish operates.

Aquí en esta parroquia tenemos un ministro hispano muy grande. Tenemos Misa

en español todos los sábados a las 6PM y también tenemos Misa a las 5:30PM

todos los jueves y clases de catecismo después. Ofrecemos estas clases y platicas en

español. Celebramos todos los sacramentos (bautismos, primeras comuniones,

matrimonios, todo) y también bendiciones como quinceañeras en español. ¡Hazte

parte de nuestra comunidad hispana muy vivaz!

Estamos muy contentos de celebrar los bautismos aquí en español. Para bautizar aquí

tienes que 1) obtener y llenar los papeles, notando que la forma para los padrinos debe

ser firmada por su propio párroco. 2) asistir a la clase de bautismo que tenemos aquí en

español, el próximo será el 2 de junio a las 1PM en la escuela. La clase es obligatoria

para los padres del niño(a) y para los padrinos también. 3) Llamar a la oficina, 575-763

-6947, para hacer una cita con el Padre Simón o el Diacono Juan. En la cita vamos a

trabajar con usted para fijar la fecha del bautizo; las fechas son flexibles. Haremos todo

lo posible para programar el bautizo cuando mejor funcione para usted y su familia.
