Peachtree is an accounting application for small and medium-sized businesses.

It is made by Sage Software. Peachtree enables

comptrollers and managers to automate and manage numerous accounting tasks.

Peachtree can perform numerous accounting tasks, like

Reconciling accounts payable and receivable.Creating financial statements, check invoices.Tracking banking transfers and payroll.Integrating scanned documents like checks, receipts & invoices.

To run “Peachtree 2009” on you PC you’ll need at least,

Intel Pentium IV1 GHz Processor1 GB of RAM 1 GB of Free Disk SpaceInternet AccessInternet Explorerand At Least Windows XP.

Peachtree On Your PC


You can Install Peachtree in a number of ways as to suit your need.

Two Installation Types are: Installing on a Stand-

Alone Computer. Installing on a Network• Client/Server Network• Peer-to-Peer Network• Server Computer• Terminal Server

Installing Peachtree

To start “Peachtree” Set-up

Insert the Peachtree CD or DVD in your CD/DVD ROM.

Double Click on the CD Drive.

You Will be Prompted with a Set-up menu.

Once You have double clicked the CD Drive, you will be prompted with this screen.


Now After You have selected the “Install Peachtree Accounting” Option the installation wizard will start to prepare the install setup.

At this point in time all you can do is wait…


After a bit of waiting (depending on the speed of your computer) you will be prompted with this screen.

Click Next to move forward in installation process


Now You Need to Agree with all the terms and conditions of “Sage” (You want world domination, we give it to you!!!)

Click Accept


Wait until the setup completes all it’s tasks

Well my friends, Patience is the key…


If Prompted enter the serial number provided.One working serial number I found was“59176756”

For now we are using it for learning purpose, so I’ll go with the only computer running this software option.

Yes, we won’t share over network.


Most companies would like to use separate databases but here I’ll be using the same PC.

Click ‘Yes’ if you want to store database on same Computer


Here we specify the folder to install Peachtree on.

I have selected the default directory to install Peachtree, specify a different one if you like.

Running Peachtree

Select Start Button and then Programs then Peachtree group folder then click Peachtree icon.

OR Locate and double-click the

My Computer icon. By default, Peachtree is

installed in c:\Program Files\Sage Software\Peachtree. Locate and open Peachtree folder.

locate and double-click the PEACHW.EXE file.

When You First Run Peachtree You’ll be prompted with the following screen.

Converts Accounting Record From some other Software.(Supports “QuickBook” and “DacEasy”.)

Shows the System Date

Shows the Accounting Period Gives option

There are two steps in creating your own company1. Entering Basic info like

the chart of accounts, accounting method, posting method, and accounting period structure.

First of all start Peachtree 2009.

When you will first run it you will be greeted by screen on the left.

If not click “File” on menu bar and click “New Company”

Fill out the form with the details of your company.

Select a method to create your company.I will prefer the sample business type but the final choice depends on you.

Once you are done with Step 1, you will be prompted with this setup guide.

You can either enter all the detailed information now or you can enter them later as needed by selecting “Company” from Main Panel then File>Setup Guide.

Accounting in Peachtree

Now that the setting-up of accounting system is done, it is time to talk business.

Peachtree offers many ways to make transactions and automatically posts your invoices to the related account.

We will stick only to the Journal Entries due to limited scope of presentation.

Creating Financial Reports


Creating Financial Reports isn't a big deal in Peachtree, it is just a matter of few clicks.

All you need to do is click on “Reports and Forms” on menu bar and choose the desired report.

Step 2: Pick a Report Type



Once you click a report type you will be prompted with the interface on the left.

Pick a report to display or print.
