Dear Parishioners,

May you continue to celebrate the holy season of Christmas as we begin a New Year that will certainly be

an interesting one! May it be a blessed one for you and your family and a peaceful one for all of us.

Enclosed in this bulletin you will find our financial statement for 2015/2016 and our budget numbers for

2016/2017. Please note how important is your Sunday contributions to the parish. Our other income

lines help a little but your consistent weekly donations enable us to provide services and to maintain our

properties. Many thanks for your generosity ... you will notice that there was a deficit last year and there

is an anticipated deficit this year due to an increased number of employees in the parish ... I think that the

deficit is "doable" --- that is, that with your continuing generosity we may end up in the BLACK on August

31, 2017, please God!

Also, you will find our spiritual report for last year ... again there are several areas that need work --- the

number of Baptisms should be more, the number of marriages is discouraging and the Sunday attendance

needs to increase ... how can we do this? We can work together to spread the faith, especially in our fami-

lies and to our neighbors ... good example and enthusiasm about the faith are contagious ... we are all

called to be missionaries in Silver Beach, Edgewater, Locust Point, Throggs Neck --- and beyond. May God

bless us with new faith and fervor.

Estimados feligreses, ¡Espero que continúen celebrando la santa temporada de Navidad al comenzar un Año Nuevo. ¡Que cierta-mente será interesante! Que este nuevo año sea una bendición para usted y su familia y una paz para to-dos nosotros. Adjunto en este boletín encontrará nuestro estado financiero para el año 2015/2016 y nuestros números de presupuesto para el año 2016/2017. Tenga en cuenta que sus contribuciones dominicales son bien im-portantes para la parroquia. Nuestras otras fuentes de ingresos ayudan un poco, pero sus constantes do-naciones semanales nos permiten brindar servicios y mantener nuestras propiedades. Muchas gracias por su generosidad... se darán cuenta de que hubo un déficit el año pasado y hay un déficit anticipado este año debido a un mayor número de empleados en la parroquia... Creo que el déficit es "factible" - es decir, que con su continua generosidad podemos terminar en tinta NEGRA el 31 de agosto de 2017, ¡que Dios nos escuche! Además, encontrará nuestro informe espiritual para el año pasado... de nuevo hay varias áreas que necesi-

tan trabajo --- el número de bautismos debe ser más, el número de matrimonios es desalentador y la asis-

tencia del domingo debe aumentar... cómo ¿podemos hacer esto? Podemos trabajar juntos para difundir la

fe, especialmente en nuestras familias y en nuestros vecinos... buen ejemplo y entusiasmo por la fe son

contagiosos... todos estamos llamados a ser misioneros en Silver Beach, Edgewater, Locust Point, Throggs

COAT DRIVE!!One of our parishioners is organizing a Coat Drive, please bring a usable Coat (no suits, jackets, skirts, etc.) to the Lower Church de Chantal Hall on Saturday, January 14 or Sunday, January 15 at the Mass times. The coat should be foled and placed in a shopping bag and it should be a usable coat. This is a ONE WEEKEND COAT DRIVE, January 14, January 15. The coats will be picked up on Tuesday, January 17, thank you for helping those in need. This Coat Drive is sponsored by NEW YORK CARES.
