P. 28 Don’t forget that the most memorable literature in history isn’t entire book but rather individual lines.
not entire, for one thing only p. 29 Poetry is successful , when through figurative
language, imagery, literary devices and other such techniques, it conveys meaning deeper than just the meaning of the individual words.
p. 41 Despite these differences, song lyrics can still make use of literary devices and other poetic aspects.
P.43 In the verse, the scheme is AABBCD/ EFEFGGD. This pattern can also be found in many poems.

Appreciating Poetry Enjoying poetry is indeed quite an art. It involves so
much more than merely reading a piece of text. First of all, we should know poetry is the most compac
t form of writing whereas in novels the author could leave out many sentences and still get the main story across. Secondly, line breaks are essential in creating feeling. In traditional styles, there are pre-determined number of words per line, while free verse poets break lines so that the last word you read will stick in your mind and make a deep impression. Thirdly, we should realize that the real charm of poetry lies in the meaning it conveys, by using techniques , such as figurative langue, imagery, literary devices and so on.
Consequently, to enjoy a poem, readers had better read it over and over again so that it sink in your mind.
