Thunderbird Online Asynchronous Session Activities
Coursework and Learning Objectives: Each session page will clearly indicate the specific learning objectives, interactive activities, video lectures, and case studies in an easy to follow format.
Faculty Video Lectures: Thunderbird faculty lectures and presentations will reinforce session learning material. Lectures are provided through lecture capture software enabling easy download to iTunes for viewing while traveling/offline.
Interactive Multimedia Activities: Interactive activities are designed to provide participants with a hands-on approach to strengthen and apply their understanding of the course material.
Case Studies: Intensive case analyses will enable participants to apply the concepts learned to real-life examples.
Facilitated Discussion Boards: Forums are facilitated by subject matter experts/mentors and are designed to promote asynchronous discussion between colleagues.
Learning Journals: To enhance retention and application of the skills learned, leadership journals will be provided throughout the online sessions. These journals will be pre-populated with targeted questions for the learner to apply the skills to their real-life examples.
Quizzes and Assessments: Online quizzes and checkpoint questions will help to determine participants’ understanding of the course material.
Self-assessments Tools: In four of the online sessions, participants will complete third-party self-assessments to enhance their understanding of the content. Each assessment will target specific competencies and is outlined in the module sections ahead. Examples include the Cultural Orientations Indicator® and the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI)®.
