Over the past few weeks I’ve come across typically

two types of people, energisers and leeches… after

Leeches are different. They sap our energy, leaving us depleted

Generosity is a mindset

In Matthew 23:23 (NIV), Jesus addresses this, “Woe to you,

teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a

tenth of your spices–mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected

the more important matters of the law–justice, mercy and

faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without

neglecting the former.” Jesus shows us that generosity cannot

come from a selfish heart but must come from a servant heart.

We can individually change for the better the lives of those around us but this can only be done through a servant heart… by putting others ahead of ourselves and serving them, often sacrificing the things we want. This is the call of Christ, he was the Servant King, and he calls us to follow him and serve others. Rev Joe K

Christmas Cards

For the last few years, members of the congregation at Rillington have sent a communal card rather than individual ones. The money saved has then been given to help those less fortunate in other parts of the world. This last Christmas, £90 was given and the PCC decided to add a sum equal to the offering at the

Bereavement Service. £234 was then sent to Links International to purchase the following gifts:

3 x Lifewater filter kits (10 litres/hour for 2 years)

2 x chickens + feed for a year

Bees (Beekeeping provides a source of income and nutrition for people in rural situations)

1 5 Moringa trees (nutritious and anti-bacterial)

Small solar lamp (used for study and phone charging)
