I would like to thank all those who prepared the multiple “farewells” as I retired. I was also humbled by the many cards and conversations I had over the past few weeks. There were several variations on how

something I had done was important, and maybe even life changing in some ways. Rest assured that even if for a good chunk of my life I may not have been able to find Watford or Forest, I am happy that the Bishop sent me to share a bit of my life with you, and these years changed me. So if my time brought you closer to God and Eucharist, thank God for letting me help Him to accomplish that. If any-thing I did hindered you finding God, I will accept the responsibility, and ask that you continue to pray

for me that my walk with Jesus brings those I meet closer to Jesus, not drive them away. -Fr. Tom

A Message from Deacon John We begin the summer with the celebration of Canada day. In our national anthem we have a short, meaningful

prayer; “God keep out land glorious and free”. The healthy desire to keep out country “Glorious and free” needs to start within out own hearts. We can seek and discern through prayer, scripture and love of neighbor, to see how

God calls us to live in the joy of a freer state of mind and heart. We then naturally help others in our midst to share that state of freedom, which by default spills over into our family’s and communities, and ultimately will extend to

our entire country of Canada. Brother in Christ - Deacon John Lammers

Merlin Shrine Pilgrimage Bishop Fabbro and Bishop Dabrowski invite the faithful to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mount

Carmel at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary on Tuesday, July 16th. The day will begin with lunch at noon, followed by a concert performed by the Wallaceberg Life Teen band at 1pm. A rosary procession will take place at 1:30pm, followed by Mass celebrated by Bishop Dabrowski and benediction at 2pm.

There will also be a walking pilgrimage to the Shrine. There are 22km, 10km and 4km options. If you would like to

participate please contact John. If you have any questions or are interested in going you can contact Deacon John Lammers

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated supplies for the ‘Project Backpack.’ We were able to pack over 140 bags for distribution through St. Joseph’s (Corunna), St. Phillip’s (Petrolia), OLHC

(Watford) and St. Christopher’s (Forest). Kudos also to Dr. Jennifer Burns (Forest Dental Office) for her generous donation of a variety of oral care products. Bags and remaining food and personal

items were supplied to the Boys and Girls Club for distribution and re-supply as needed. God bless you for your generosity to those less fortunate.

Reach Camp is once again returning to OLHC. This week long fun camp themed “Life is Wild: God is Good” will take place August 12-16 in the church basement. The Cost is $10 per child. We are
