Dear parishioners and friends:
September 19: A Parish Pilgrimage to the Saints
of Philadelphia
We are blessed as a Catholic community to live so close to two of our American Saints, St. John Neumann and St. Katharine Drexel. Our parish will prayerfully tour the Shrines of the two saints on Tuesday, September 19th, with a comfortable coach bus leaving the St. Lawrence parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Our first stop is the National Shrine of St. John Neumann. I will celebrate Mass at the Neumann Altar that day and we will also tour the Shrine Museum. In learning about St. John Neumann we learn much about the growth of the Catholic Faith in our community. This holy man established the Diocesan School System, initiated a Diocesan Schedule for 40 Hours Devotion, and built many schools and churches. Our next stop is the National Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel. A Philadelphia native, Katharine gave up her family fortune and founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. She devoted her life to helping Native American and Black children who were so neglected at the time. The day will conclude with a relaxing dinner at Fishers Restaurant in Bensalem, Bucks County, PA.
I am confident this will be a day of prayer
and enjoyable fellowship as we learn about our
local Catholic history. The cost, including dinner,
for the Parish Pilgrimage to the Saints of Philadelphia is $45. We will only contract for 1
Bus and the bus holds 56 pilgrims, so reserve your
seat as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing
you on our Pilgrimage.
God Bless you and your family, Father Vince
Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu familia, Padre Vicente

20/20 Project – UPDATE 3
The goal of the 20/20 Project is to start changing the abortion culture in New Jersey by passing a law to ban abortions after 20 weeks gestation by the year 2020. Last week I talked about the focus on prayer for this campaign’s success. Now how do we convince legislators to stop blocking out all pro-life legislation from their radar??
The answer that Christine Flaherty, head of the Project, is using is to humanize the unborn baby and focus on the fact that babies at this stage feel pain. Scientific research shows that the baby in the womb can feel pain as early as 8 weeks, so Christine made this the phrase on the materials that she has produced to accompany the campaign. Just as the pink ribbon has come to mean support for breast cancer, she hope that the cobalt and white care magnets and phone stickers with the phrase “Babies in the Womb Feel Pain” along with baby feet will come to mean “life” for babies in the womb. In addition to the magnets and stickers, she has cobalt blue ties and scarves to identify this cause when meeting with legislators or going to Trenton for rallies. There are a number of cars with the magnets in our church parking lot and around the area. If you would like one for your car, email me at
(To read more about the research on pain, google 20/20 Project.)

Stewardship Gratitude
“Or who has given the Lord anything that he may be repaid?” - Romans 11:35
St. Paul reminds us of a central fact of Stewardship. We cannot give the Lord
anything, because God already owns it all. God made everything. All that we can do is
return a por tion of God’s many gifts back to Him. Sincere gratitude for our gifts opens our
hearts to joyful generosity!
