Orthomanual Veterinary Medicine, the Aharon Method, is developed specifically for vertebral and joint misalignment.

Pain in the back, neck, and fore- and hind legs is common in animals.

Pain, lameness, paralysis, difficulty standing up, going up and down the stairs, and jumping (e.g. into the car) can be attributed to (amongst other things) misalignment of the vertebrae and joints.

With this kind of misalignment, the portion of the nervous system around the malformed vertebra (or joint) is irritated, leading to pain

and loss of function. Some behavioural abnor-malities, as in the case of fearful, restless, or aggressive dogs, can sometimes be ascribed to a (correctable) misalignment of the verte-brae.

Reasons for a consultation include:

my dog has difficulty standing up, or my cat is stiff;•

my dog or cat cannot go up the stairs, or my dog cannot jump into the car;•

my dog or cat has been limping for a while (rest and medicine are insufficient);•

my dog or cat is partially paralysed, stumbling over his / her hind or forelegs;•

my dog or cat is suffering from a discopathy (herniated disc);•

certain behavioural abnormalities, such as restlessness or fearfulness.•

The treatment consists of the misalignment’s correction, thereby allowing the spine to adjust to a normal position and the nervous system to recover itself.

One or two treatments are often sufficient. A check up after 3 months is recommended.

After a general, orthopaedic, and neurologic examination, with the correct indication, your dog, cat, or rabbit will be treated according to the orthomanual method.

Treatment

Page 7: Orthomanual Veterinary Medicine,

After the treatment, some pain is to be expected. However, this pain disappears fairly quickly, often within 48 to 72 hours following the treatment.

The recovery time depends on the injury, the time elapsed before starting treatment, and on other (possible) underlying diseases.

The aftercare will be discussed with you in detail. Every animal, indication, and symptom require a different approach.

Rehabilitation and fitness

We medically rehabilitate dogs and provide exercises and a con-ditioning training.

Reasons for a medical rehabilitation:

muscle-contractions;•

injuries to muscles and tendons;•

postoperative patients; •

(after surgeries on knee, shoulder, or hip)

arthritis patients; •

(dogs that have difficulty getting up, especially after resting)

hyper mobility with animals that are still growing ; •

(the dog seems to ‘fall apart’)

Puppy check-ups

Puppies like to play carelessly and rashly. They tumble head over heels, slide, and jump up and down.

They are too excited to stop and to show us that they feel discomfort. Because the muscles, ten-dons and the skeleton are not strong enough yet, misalignment can occur in the spine and / or the joints.

Puppy check-ups are available from the age of 3 months.

Sports check-ups are specifically targeted for sport and working dogs.

We advise you to have your dog undergo a check-up be-fore the training or the opening of the sports season.

We offer a 10% discount on our sports check-ups from February till April.
