Order of Worship - Sanctuary PRELUDE - “Beautiful Savior” - David Johnson
Michael Olson, organist
ANNOUNCEMENTS /PRAYER Reader - Shirley Tietz Cantor - Marla Fogderud Assisting Pastor - Pastor Laurie Neill BRIEF ORDER FOR CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS P: In the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen
P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
C: Amen
P: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
P: Most Merciful God. C: We confess that we are in bondage to sin and
cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.
P: Almighty God, in his mercy, has given his Son to
die for us and, for his sake, forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained minister of the Church of Christ, and by his authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen

Welcome & Announcements
Song - “Open The Eyes of My Heart”
Confession Lord, I confess that I’ve missed the mark. I have not loved you with all my heart, soul and mind. I certainly have not loved my neighbors the way you have shown to do. Many days I don’t even love myself. I’m sorry I put obeying rules and regulations over loving others. I’m sorry I leaned toward the law and not towards love. Show me how to love others, myself and you more freely. Amen. HYMN - “BEAUTIFUL SAVIOR” - LBW 518
FIRST READING - Amos 7:7-15, Pew Bible page 748
PSALM - Psalm 85:8-13 - Melody - Fred Til Bod 77 77 77
Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his faithful people,
to those who turn their hearts to him. Now to speak the Lord draws near;
Let us all his message hear. Surely his salvation is at hand for those who fear him,
that his glory may dwell in our land. God draws near in righteousness
And with peace, his world to bless. Mercy and faithfulness will meet;
righteousness and peace will kiss each other. God proclaims his faithful Word;
Let it now in faith be heard. Faithfulness will spring up from the earth,
and righteousness will look down from heaven. Now to speak the Lord draws near;
Let us all his message hear. The Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.
God draws near in righteousness And with peace, his world to bless.
Boundary Waters Canoe Trip
July 31 – August 9 Cost: $500
(includes: transportation, canoes, qualified adult
leadership, group equipment, food, one night lodging,
devo-book, life jacket and t-shirt)
This is a full blown wilderness expedition. You will be on a trail in a wilderness area where no roads or motorized vehicles are allowed. Get in touch with nature as you paddle the historic waterways of the early explorers in our 26’ Voyageur North Canoes hand built by First Lutheran in 2014. Come to know God more intimately as you meditate and reflect on your life during daily quiet times. Grow close to a small group of committed fellow travelers as you share in group times, play, pray and work together paddling the great north canoe. The training dates are critical and essential to your proper preparation, safety and learning of the skills necessary for a safe extended wilderness trip. For more information, please contact Rollie Johnson at [email protected].
7 Righteousness will go before the Lord, and peace shall be a pathway for his feet.
Alleluia! Glory be To the Lord eternally!
