PURPOSE

Orange City Turkey Trot’s purpose is to mark the

Thanksgiving Holiday with joyful community

through a 5K fun run / walk. While we will offer a

true 5K course and will record runner times, the

emphasis is on a fun experience for all ages that

will raise awareness and resources for mis-

sion. The 2017 beneficiaries are Bethany Christian

Services and the Trinity Youth Ministries.

OPPORTUNITIES

1) Worship - The race is purposely early in the

morning to allow community members to run and

still attend morning Thanksgiving services at vari-

ous churches. Alternatively, Trinity and Living

Water worship in a joint service on Wednesday

evening at 6:30 p.m. in Trinity’s Worship Center.

All welcome to join in worship - come as you are.

2) Food & Fellowship - You are also welcome to

join us for a Thanksgiving Day meal at Living

Water’s facility for lunch. Everyone is welcome for

a time of fellowship and food.

3) Donations - You are also encouraged to bring

non-perishable items for the local food pantry and/

or monetary items for Bethany Christian Services.

T Shirts

T-shirts are guaranteed at packet pick-up for those who regis-

ter by November 1, 2017. Depending on the number of run-

ners, we may need to order extra shirts after the race that

should be available mid December.

Awards

Special awards will be given to the overall male and female

runners. Age group awards will be presented to the top two

in each age group, beginning

around 8:45am.

Course Information

The course begins on 2nd St SE just west of the corner

with St. Paul Ave and finishes on St. Paul Ave near the

Trinity Reformed sign. It is a gently rolling course. If ice

prevents running on the roads, as it did in 2015, we will

run a cross country style race on the Trinity campus.
