Sunday, July 26th Reading Reflection Contrasts are amazing. In art school we had to study color theory and learned how colors affect each other. A tiny one inch square of color in a field of another color will drastically affect the effects of that color. A little yellow square mixed with white, a pastel yellow, against a large black field from a distance will look bright white, while the same little square with a pastel purple border of a smaller size will look quite bright in its
yellowness. This is what needs to be taken into consideration. Contrasts or lack of contrasts are real. We need to have a view to this, God tells us in the Gospel. We hear again Jesus, telling us that heaven is very contrasty. A little tiny valuable thing that has great effects or great value is what it is all about. There should be a great contrast in things when we are really finding, living, building the kingdom of God. It will not be boring. It will be dramatic. Fr. Jeremy St. Martin Other Things Got to run. Meeting with the archdiocese of Boston representative, Mr. Moschetto, to figure out the flooding problem with St. Joe’s basement. God is good. O.K. that was good. We’ve got a few plans. Need to meet with the building inspector. We have a man who is going to refinish the inside surfaces of the confessionals for us really nice and it is good to see God sending us help. The tree about to fall has been taken care of also by volunteers. I am so happy and heartbroken at the same time to see Robert Daily, our leader of teaching the faith for 10 years, coming to the end of his career. We can, for him, and for the Blackwells, paint stones. Put them in the Mary Garden. It will be a creative solution to the festivities we would be doing if all things were equal. Printing deadline approaches. Got to call the landscape architect. St. Thomas Aquinas Club is tonight and Confession as well (writing on Tuesday.) Please see the website for details on this and times of Adoration. Thank you to Helena for the following: “The Physician Assisted Suicide bill was recently passed by the Joint House and Senate Committee on Public Health, and sent to Health Care Finance Committee for a final vote. That vote, which will likely occur soon, is the last step to determine whether it becomes law or not. If passed, this bill would:
allow doctors to prescribe a lethal medication to those who are nearing the end of their life, without anyone else having to know.
allow these deadly drugs to be picked up at a local pharmacy.
allow insurance companies and family members who may benefit financially take advantage of those who should be helped, not exploited.
It is URGENT that we take a minute or two and call and email the legislators on this committee: https://malegislature.gov/Committees/Detail/J24/191 and urge them to vote NO on this deadly bill. Start with the Committee Chair, Cindy Friedman: (617) 722-1432, [email protected].
Please share this message widely and pray for life!
Blessings,
Helena Petroff”

Sunday, August 2, Reading Reflection
We have a promise of free satisfaction in the first reading and a prefigurement of that satisfaction in the feeding of the five thousand. It is currently fully fulfilled now from the altars of Christ’s Church where we are mystically and really fed with the finest wheat. It is a great thing to be a priest for the wonderful thing is, God, in his divine providence, has ordained it to be that this finest wheat, this satisfaction, this sacraments of sacraments, should be confected at the hands of the priests. I am happy to say that we have three tabernacles full of this eucharist. It is there. The devil is undone. God reigns Fr. Jeremy St. Martin Other Things We have exterminators getting rid of the wasp problem outside of St. James. We are working on getting bids for fixing doors. The other bids all fell through. We are getting ready for Bob Johnson’s funeral. We celebrated the funeral of Chief Jay. The Cardinal called to see how I was doing. God is good. If you are interested in the Camino let me know. I got some pictures in one or both of the bulletins of newly baptized babies and an artist making a mural in the narthex of St. Joe’s. The bulletins are online if you are looking for one or the other. In Christ,
Fr. Jeremy St. Martin I think the following is still relevant.
