Online Training – notes to complete

1.0 Introduction Thanks for selecting Online Training from SoloProtect.

Please find the below information for an Identicom user and a Lone Worker Manager to successfully access

SoloProtect Online Training.

2.0 The benefits of using SoloProtect Online Training:

Lone Workers can complete the training at their own pace. Users can log in and out part way through the process and their progress is saved.

Managers can access information about who’s successfully completed training, who’s started and left incomplete, or who’s yet to log into the system.

Online training is very easy to arrange for large groups of users, compared to face to face sessions.

It’s flexible and free to all SoloProtect customers.

Can be used both for new users, and as a tool for refresher training.

3.0 Completing the Training

3.1 Location

The SoloProtect Training Portal is located at www.SoloProtect.com/uk/training

Please note – you cannot access the portal as a user, without our prior notice in order to create a profile for you

and /or your team – please speak to SoloProtect Customer Support if you’re unsure about this. Each user will be

notified by SoloProtect (via e-mail) when a profile has successfully been created (they should login after receiving).

3.2 Logging in for the first time

The first time you visit to the site, you will need to auto-generate a password by selecting the ‘Forgotten /

Generate Password?’ link.

3.3 Generating a password

You are then prompted to enter your e-mail address. A password will then be generated and e-mailed to you

immediately. Please keep a note of this password for future reference.

3.4 Login

Then, to login, simply enter your e-mail address, password and click to login.

3.5 Your training

3.5.1 Starting the training

Click on ‘Identicom Training’ to start the process.

And, select ‘Start Your Training’ on the following page:

3.5.2 Format and layout

Notice the content / question sections highlighted in yellow on the left hand side of the page.

Video content is laid out (highlighted green here for example) within the main body of the text a user reads, prior

to being asked to answer related questions. Some areas of text are information only (primarily during the first

couple of training sections).

When answering a question, please select via clicking the relevant radio button, as highlighted below.

A user then selects ‘Continue’ to move on to the next section – also highlighted.

If a question remains unanswered and a user attempts to continue, they will be reminded that all questions

require an answer in order to progress to the next section.

3.5.3 Getting a question wrong

As a user progresses through the training, the sections on the left hand side of the screen are denoted as being

successfully passed, work in progress, or failed by one of three symbols:

If a user answers a question incorrectly, they will not immediately be returned to the relevant section to retake it.

All content and questions are worked through and answered in sequence. At the end of the training, if anything

was answered incorrectly, the user will be shown the message overleaf, and then be returned to any sections with

incorrect answers to retake. All users get a total of three chances to answer all the questions correctly.

If the training is not successfully completed after three attempts, the user is notified by the portal (and confirmed

on e-mail to the user, and their Manager Cc’d), that they have unfortunately failed their training.This will prompt a

call from our Customer Support Team to the user to see if any assistance or help is required. After which, the

users’ profile can be reset, for them to reattempt their training.

3.5.4 Passing your training

Once successfully completed, a user and their manager are notified on e-mail. A user also has the ability to

download a confirming certificate.

The certificate is also sent to the user by e-mail, confirming that they’ve successfully completed the required

training.

A user’s manager will be automatically Cc’d

on the confirmation in order for the necessary

audit trail to be kept.

4.0 Notes for managers

4.0.1 Getting a snapshot of your team

All managers are set up to be able to access the same training as their staff – and log into the system in exactly the

same way. However, once logged in, managers have an additional section on the left hand side (shown below),

entitled ‘Your Team’.

Selecting this takes a manager through to see a snapshot of their team. This gives them quick and easy to digest

information regarding the training progress of their team.

Managers can get information on when a user was notified to start their training. Who’s started the training

process (or not), who’s passed, failed and the number of attempts a user has needed etc.

A manager can access this info without having to complete the device training themselves, if that’s not appropriate

due to them not being an Identicom user etc.
