Maintenance is the combination of all those technicaland administrative actions, including supervisory ac-tions, having the purpose of maintaining or restoring anitem to a status allowing it to execute the required func-tion (UNI 9910 definition).

ISS International offers completed and integratedO&M Engineering Services mainly for Oil & Gas andPower Generation industry.

ISS International supplies services and develops in-novative solutions (Dynamic Simulation) to improveMaintenance Activities linked to Plant Design and Prof-itability.

Maintenance is on its way to becoming more and morean essential engineering activity that it starts by theconceptual phase of plant and it lasts for all its lifecycle until its decommissioning. For this reason, itmust be planned carefully as multidisciplinaryengineering activity.

In order to support the Company’s business and pro-duction operational objectives, a clear statement ofwhat maintenance has to achieve must be stated: thisprovides a set of objectives. Objectives must be con-sidered at various levels as defined in the below Figure.

We also provide abroad range of technical, administrative and regulatoryinterface services for customers wherever their plantsare located. Our HSE-Q unit continually monitor ourperformance against our internal health, safety, envi-ronmental and quality management standards to en-sure world’s best practice is maintained. Ourcompetitive advantage in contract operations is our ca-pacity to maintain a culture within our team where riskidentification and mitigation is unambiguously em-braced as the top priority. The service providerand the Company should make sure that they speaka common language and is aligned with Internationalindustry terminology. The maintenance agreements shouldembed the necessary flexibility for effectively manag-ing different projects in terms of complexity, costs.and Investments difficulty.

In line with local rules and regulations. The serviceprovider should make sure that its services are in linewith the country where the services are executed. Inparticular health, safety and environment issues.

The scope of the maintenance support services mayspan for the simple provisions of labourers, i.e. on callbasis, to the supply of a full maintenance global serv-ices, which is by definition a long terms service. Externally provided maintenance support services canbe divided into three major categories:Basic maintenance support agreementsLimited service agreementsLong term service agreements (LTSA).

Typically, the lowest level of maintenance support serv-ice is provided on the basis of a specific needs, nor-mally for a specific type of equipment discipline ormanufacturer of hardware and software. Manufacturerstraditionally provide these basic services to supporttheir products. Limited service agreements and LTSA’sare generally applicable to major equipment, systemsor facilities. AV SIMThe AvSim module is a powerful system reliability andavailability simulator. It is capable of analyzing complexand dependent systems, enabling you optimization ofyour reliability and maintenance strategy.In AvSim the logical interaction of failures, and how theyaffect system performance, are modeled using a relia-bility block diagram or fault tree. These diagrams maybe used to model failure and success or levels ofthroughput in the system.

Consequences are then assigned to any level of thelogical diagram to indicate the effects of failures (finan-cial, operational, safety and environmental). Labour,spares and failure data may be imported or directly en-tered into the program together with any operationalphase information and task group assignments.The AvSim maintenance software module will then an-alyze your system using efficient Monte Carlo simula-tion algorithms to provide availability and reliabilityparameters, life cycle costs, importance rankings etc.It is also possible to optimize spare holdings andplanned maintenance intervals.All this information may be reported in standard (or cus-tom) graphs and text reports or exported to your data-base or spreadsheet application.

mechanisms and it evaluates a risk profile for the plant. It is specified for the development of upstream anddownstream, onshore and offshore process pressureequipment such as vessels, columns, fired heaters,piping, pumps, exchanges, tanks and relief valves.

RAMP is a simulation programme capable of modellingsimple or complex process systems of all types.RAMP models are used to support critical decision makingsuch as redundant capacity, buffer storage, reduction ofthrough-life costs, equipment procurement specification,criticality and cost-benefit analysis.
