“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.”

The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay is the longest in history! The flame was lit by the sun in Greece where it traveled for 8 days before it was handed over to Canada. It was then flown by jet to Victoria on October 30, 2009. This was the official start to the Olympic torch relay. The torch represents peace, friendship and goodwill. It began in 1936.
