Earth-moving equipment rumbles across the acreage

Plumbers scurry from one site to the next

Electricians secure connections that will soon be hidden from view

Concrete trucks arrive at a steady pace

Footings and piers emerge from the parched soil

Slabs appear with rough-in plumbing announcing the future

Such terms accurately describe what my eyes have seen! For years,

faith controlled my vision; however, fact now reveals the dream!

The sights and sounds of construction presently pierce the undis-

turbed landscape in the “heart” of Oklahoma as Sparks Camp takes

shape!

NEXTevolvesintoNOW!!!

NEXT Generation Partners must unite and respond to the mission –

“LIGHTS…CAMERA…ACTION”

If only every member of “our family” could visit the site, motivation

would rise to a frenzied peak. BUT – WE CAN!!!

By means of the internet, every person in Oklahoma and around the

world can visually make the trip. A special website – www.thenext-

campaign.org – is available for all to see. Images of what will be,

news of current progress, and relevant, essential information for NEXT

Generation Partners leap from the computer screen.

Turn on your internet browser, type in www.thenextcampaign.org,

and let your spirit soar! Don’t only visit the site once, but mark it as a

favorite and return frequently. Scroll down the page and click on the

image that contains the words “On the Site” in order to make the trip

electronically.

If you believe the NEXT Generation deserves our investment, become

a NEXT Generation Partner. If you are passionate that Pentecostal

Leadership should define our future, become a NEXT Generation Part-

ner. If you share the dream that our future must be brighter than our

past, become a NEXT Generation Partner.

Grateful to be in Partnership,

Frank and Linda Cargill

There have been several that have called and asked about the camp process

at Sparks. Because we want to keep everyone aware on a constant basis I am

sharing with you a typical update that I receive.

Please keep in mind that by the time you receive this Outlook the informa-

tion will be out dated. Consequently we ask that everyone go online and get

a continual update on the process. It would be my desire that everyone in our

churches watch the day by day process.

I somehow feel that as everyone watches the process we will build enthusi-

asm and excitement. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of our people start talking

about this project and get as excited as we are? I can only imagine what would

happen.

As of August 21, 2010 the following contruction has been accomplished:

• Four slabs were poured for Cabins• Three additional footing were poured for Cabins• Site work has been completed for the Cafeteria

as well as three additional Cabins

We will be in the middle of the “NEXT GENERATION” banquets by the

time you read this so please pray with us that God will provide the

resources necessary for us to bring this project to completion. It is

extremely needed for the “NEXT GENERATION”.

NEWPASTORS

A recent survey shows that 55 percent of Americans have no formal

estate planning and do not even have a simple will.  That number is

unchanged from a similar study 3 years prior.  Ten percent of those who

do not have any estate planning in place say it is because they do not

want to think about dying or becoming incapacitated.  An equal portion

say they do not know who to talk to about estate planning.  One in four

respondents say they do not think they have enough assets to need a

will.  These may not sound like worthwhile reasons for avoiding planning,

but they are excuses people in your church use to put off this important

process.

In the estate planning mindset, a simple Last Will and Testament is a ba-

sic building block every adult needs.  Although a Last Will and Testament

still functions within the probate process, a Last Will and Testament al-

lows you to create your personal directions for management and distri-

bution of the property you leave behind, trumping the directions given

under the impersonal statute-driven process.  Another advantage of a

Last Will and Testament for parents of minor children is that a couple

can designate their preference for who takes custody of their children

if they both die, also allowing for creation of trusts for those minor s to

handle the funds through childhood years and even into college and

adulthood.  In addition, a Last Will and Testament allows for the creation

of charitable gifts where the probate statutes allows no such room.

Wills are curious creatures.  On one hand, they are valuable in that they

are the first step toward creating a conhensive plan for distributing your

property after you die instead of abiding by the legislature’s distribution

plan.  On the other hand, many people do not realize that a will and the

assests governed by it must pass through the probate system to take

effect.  That is both good news and bad news.

The probate statute creates an established process to prove that your

will is your actual intent and then guiding the process to make sure

everything is distributed in a manner according to your wishes.  On the

downside, though, negative elements of the probate process - slow

speed, complexity, cost, and no privacy - still have an impact on your

estate.

Despite the downside, a simple Last Will and Testament is a must for ev-

ery adult to override the state probate distribution process.  Those who

think they do not own enough assets to need a Last Will and Testament

are often not taking stock of what they own.  Many times when people

inventory their assets, they are shocked at the value of their estate.  A

Last Will and Testament is a safety net that can direct those assets for

them in the event something happens.  Most local attorneys can draft a

simple Last Will and Testament at an affordable rate.

I am extremely happy that Brother Cargill has left the planting

of ethnic churches and cowboy churches under my portfolio.

Of course, the Spanish churches make up the majority of all

our ethnic churches. Missionary Mark Fitzgerald continues

to coordinate this fast growing area of the Oklahoma District.

Next month, in the October issue of the Outlook you will find

a report on the number of church plants and other advances

taking place in Spanish Ministry across Oklahoma.

In this issue I wish to bring everyone up-to-speed on the grow-

ing number of cowboy churches we see being planted within

our borders.

TheenthusiasmIfeeltowardplantingcowboychurchesenergizesmetoleadamovementinruralOklahomathatwillproducegrowingchurchesinademo-graphicallydeprivedpartofourstate.

The following seven cowboy churches have all been approved

and are at different stages of development. Some exist as a

cowboy church because they flipped to this new model, while

others represent a totally new church plant. Four of these

churches presently have weekly services. The others are con-

ducting special or monthly gatherings or have not begun yet.

Witnessing the transforming power of Christ still remains the

greatest miracle of all. And we see that happening in the cow-

boy churches on a weekly basis.

Anyone interested in starting or being a part of a cowboy

church is invited to attend the next Cowboy Church Fellow-

ship Conference. The conference is sponsored and hosted by

the Shepherds Valley Cowboy Church in Cleburne, Texas, Russ

Weaver pastor. The dates are November 5-7, 2010.

“WOW!!!!  Awesome!!!! How else can I describe my new truck?  The OK youth are the best.  The Oklahoma district is the best when it comes to missions.  Linda and I are so thankful we are a part of such a great district.  Thank you is hardly enough to say, but know it comes from our hearts.  We are so thankful, God Bless.”

August1beginsthefirstoftenweeksleadingupto10.10.10.“9ine” was a powerful motivator

encouraging youth groups to take

up an unprecedented offering for

Speed the Light on September

9, 2009. Although we do not know exactly how much money came in for this

event, we are certain that it was a catalyst for seeing an increase in STL giving

for the first time in nine years. This year we are challenging 100,000 students

to join the cause and give $10 each week for 10 weeks culminating on October

10, 2010. We have seen the energy and momentum that can be created when

groups plan a focused blitz such as this. For example, Kailua Assembly of God

in Hawaii raised $9,200 in nine weeks with just three students. Our effort to

raise STL funds to purchase Convoy of Hope vehicles in Haiti resulted in over

$170,000 in just a couple of months. Let’s make this fall the biggest STL push

in its history.

It’s hard to believe that summer is dwin-dling to a close and school has started up again. It seems like only yesterday our lives were filled with graduations and sum-mer vacation plans. Now, for some, we are shopping for school clothes, school sup-plies, and new backpacks.

During this next school year, I would like to challenge you to be-

come involved in the school system in the community where you

minister. You would be surprised at how much your help would

be appreciated in your local schools. There are lots of ways to let

your schools know that you care about them and would love to

help out. Here are just a few:

1.Justdropbytosay,Hello. It is amazing how far a

quick greeting and a dozen doughnuts will get you when you walk

into a school office. You almost instantly become good friends

with the secretaries. Drop by, tell them who you are, wish them a

great year, and let them know if they need anything they can give

you a call.

2.Givetheteacherabreak. With large class sizes,

teachers can always use an extra pair of hands. Offer to come in

on a regular basis or whenever you have time.

3.Joinsomeofthekidsyouministertoforlunch.A simple way to be involved is to occasionally eat lunch

at school with kids from your church. Kids love it when they have

a guest for lunch. Teachers love it because it’s one more adult that

can help them out.

4.Becomeasubstitute.When I was on staff as a chil-

dren’s pastor, my day off was on Fridays. That day became my

“sub” day. I would sub at the various schools around the district.

The kids that attended our church thought it was cool that their

children’s pastor was going to be their teacher for the day.

Itmakesanimpact. By taking the time to invest in the

lives of the teachers and students in your community, you open

all kinds of opportunities for ministry. Whether it be a quick

prayer for a teacher who is having a bad day, or hanging out with

the kids from your church. Remember that the work you do ben-

efits the kids, but will also enrich the teachers, the whole school,

and the entire community by providing students with positive

interaction, support, and encouragement.

2010L.I.F.E.Pledges(Ladies Investing For Eternity)

Can you believe it? We are already in the last quarter

of this year! Thank you to the churches and ladies who

have already turned in your 2010 L.I.F.E. Pledges. You

have been a vital part in helping Women’s Ministries

support our missionaries.

This is a reminder that you have until December 15th

to turn in your commitments for 2010. It is exciting

to see what God continues to do for missions through

the ladies of Oklahoma. May God use you abundantly

as you fulfill your commitments to missions for 2010!!

You are making a difference!

On Oct. 29 - Nov. 7 I will be going on a missions trip to South

Africa with the National Girls Ministries. We will be ministering to

the physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of young

children in Mamelodi area. The main focus is on the extremely

needy, school children, and those affected and/or infected by

HIV/AIDS. Please pray for me as I travel and that we can share

Jesus with these precious children.

Sept. 12-18 is National and Oklahoma Girls Ministries Week.

Sept. 24-25 is National GM Sleepover (contact your sectional GM

Specialist)

If you need any information concerning Girls Ministries, Teen Girls

Ministries or Mentoring girls, please contact Elizabeth A. Moon,

Backtoschool~andthisusuallymeansourGirlsClubsarerevvingbackupforanewyear! Promotions, awards and Celebration! August 13 & 14 our

District Celebrations were held in OKC. Congratulations to 171

Honor Stars, 27 Friends Graduates, 8 Girls Only Graduates, 106

Bronze Medals, 21 Silver Medals and 6 Gold Medals.

OurOklahomagirlsareawesome,thebeauty,tal-entandtheGodlylovetheyexhibitisinspiring.We plan lessons, prepare crafts and make our club times as

much fun as possible so we can pour into the lives of our girls

(and Rainbow boys)! Gender specific ministry is an important

element, it shapes lives and the future generation of leadership

in our churches. My favorite quote is “We build girls, so that we

don’t have to repair women” and I think everyone can under-

stand how vital that is.

This past July a group from Section 5 participated in a Teen Girls Ministries missions trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas along with girls from the Arkansas TGM.

Tracy Collins and Dawnya Been, Section 5 Girls Specialists took

8 girls and 3 sponsors to Hot Springs, Arkansas home of A/G

Family Services(Hillcrest Children’s Home & Highlands Place-

ment Services). They painted, cleaned and were a huge blessing

at Hillcrest. This was a wonderful experience for girls to learn

about giving and unselfishness and taking the gospel into all the

world, even in the USA.

October 3rd – 9th is National Royal Rangers Week.  This is a time

when many churches across the country, and indeed around the

world, recognize the Royal Rangers ministry in a special way. Of-

ten, churches will recognize Royal Rangers during a service, or an

outpost will have a special campout or plan a special community

outreach. The week is a great time to promote Royal Rangers both

inside and outside of the local church environment.

In conjunction with National Royal Rangers Week, the following

Friday and Saturday  have been designated as the National Prayer

Vigil.

The national office has prepared a list of activities your church

can do to promote Royal Rangers during National Royal Rang-

ers Week. The list is not all inclusive. The ideas to promote Royal

Rangers in your community are only limited by your imagination!

To view this list you can go online at www.royalrangers.ag.org.
