The turbocharger for height adjustmentDuring installation, some of the most time-consuming work is the height adjustment of flushfloor, open trunk-ing systems. OBO is now exploring new avenues and has been able to reduce this work considerably using the express levelling unit. The trunk-ing can be adjusted to the required height without the need for tools and then set on the side profile of the trunking.

Installation is quick and easy: the slider on the height-adjustment thread is pulled out by hand, in order to release the screw. This can now be preset to the required height. On release, spring power creates a solid connection between the thread and the height-adjustment screw. The exact height can then be set using a screwdriver.

The open, screed-flush OKA-G and OKA-W trunking systems are used for cable routing and the installation of electricalresources in the underfloor area. The entire length of the trunking systems can be opened, meaning that they are particularlysuited to frequent changes to the laid cables in dry and wet-cleaned floors.The OKA-G possesses flexible, metal mesh side walls. The OKA-W possesses a closed, sheet steel floor trough.Resources are installed either directly in the trunking or in the side extension units. In the second option, the continuoustrunking is only used for cable routing, and its width can thus be adjusted to the amount of cables to be routed.

The exact course of the OKA-G/OKA-W trunking ismeasured and specified by tensioning a cord. Trunkingbranches are also marked on the raw screed.

Positioning of the trunking units according to themeasured and marked route. The blanking and functionlids only need to be arranged during cabling.

When joining trunking units, ensure that all the metallicparts of the trunking system are included in the protectivemeasure against indirect contact.

Combine trunking units

With the OKA-G version, the side mesh apron should berun beneath the base plate of the levelling unit.

Version with fabric

Fasten the aligned trunking section to the raw ceilingusing the fixing bracket.

Fastening the trunking units

The height of previously aligned and fastened OKAtrunking units can be adjusted to the screed height usingtheir fixing brackets. This mounting step should becarefully agreed with the screed layer. After heightadjustment, do not place any loads on the trunkingsystem.

Height adjustment

The supplied screed anchors provide the joint betweenthe screed and the trunking and are suspended in thealuminium side profile of the trunking units.

Mounting the screed anchor

Before applying the screed, shorten any height-adjustment screws protruding over the top edge of thetrunking (at least 5 mm beneath screed height).

Adjusting the height-adjustment supports

The OKAFB fitting set allows trouble-free creation ofbranch trunking (T branch). The mesh of the OKA-G canbe processed using shears or a knife and the floor troughof the OKA-W can be processed using the single-handedangle grinder.

Create trunking junction

The OKAFB fitting set allows trouble-free creation of 90ºangles. The incoming trunking section is closed on thefront side using a flushfloor end cap.

Create 90° angle

Intersections can be created in the same way asjunctions, using the OKAFB fitting set. The workcorresponds to two opposing junctions.

Create intersection

There are standardised end pieces available for the OKA-G and OKA-W trunking systems, which can be adjustedto the appropriate trunking height and which are simple tomount.

Mounting of end piece

The screed should be installed directly after the OKAtrunking system. The screed layer is obliged to line theside profiles well and to work the screed carefully andcleanly. Loads may not be placed on the trunking until thescreed has hardened.

Application of the screed

All the metallic parts of the trunking system must beincluded in the protective measure against indirectcontact with parts carrying voltage and are thereforeequipped with the appropriate connection options for theearth conductor clamp.

For nominal trunking sizes of 400 or greater, lid buttsupports are used for static support of the trunking lid. Inthe OKA-W system, they are equipped with theappropriate levelling units for safe absorption of the trafficloads.

Lid butt support mounting

Extension units can be used to give the trunking systemits usable cross-section, when service outlets are used,and also allows it for smaller trunking widths.

Extension unit

Floor covering contact profiles are used to protect theneighbouring floor covering cutting edges. In the as-delivered state, these profiles are flush, to allow finishingof the screed.

Laying of the floor covering contact profile

If the floor covering contact profile is used, then you canmount it in the reverse direction. The profile is designedin such a way as to ensure the required cover play in thefinished state.

Laying of the floor covering contact profile

The OKAFD seal allows the use of the OKA-G and OKA-W trunking systems in wet-cleaned floors. it is stuck intothe aluminium profile in the lengthwise position at theposition indicated.

Insert moisture protection

The OKARK... insertion cassette fitted with the floorcovering is laid on the trunking, which is pre-mountedwith the OKAFD seal, thus forming an even floor with theremaining floor covering.

Position cassette frame

In a trunking system with a floor trough, separatingretainers are inserted in the given locking straps in thefloor trough. The resulting connection is electricallyconductive.

Mounting of separating retainers

The trunking system with the flexible metal mesh sidewall offers optimum flexibility for adjustment heights andexploitation of the usable cross-sections.

OKA-W system with mesh

The closed trunking system with the closed floor troughcan offer optimum safety for EMC-compatible cablerouting and all-round cabling protection.
