Family member
An important part of my occupational Identity is my role as a sister/daughter/niece and cousin. Family will always be a part of my life and my relationships with them help shape and define me as a person.
Employee
My job at McDonalds is a huge part of my occupational Identity. My role as swing manager has taught me a lot about myself and about other people. It has enabled me to come out of my shell and challenged me to leave my comfort zone.
M&M collecter
I collect M&M merchandise, later this year I hope to go to America and visit an M&M world store. This is something I am known for by my friends and workmates.
Musician
Every week I go to Mosgiel brass band and play for two hours. We have national and district competitions every year and being a ‘brass bander’ is like being in a big family and is an important component to my occupational identity
Book worm
Books are where I go to escape the real world. Reading is an important occupation for me as it enables me to relax and gives me enjoyment. I have a passion for books and poetry which has developed and grown since I was a young child.
Mother
I have a one-legged rainbow lorikeet called Piper. She always makes me smile and I love caring for her. Piper hates everyone on the planet except for me. Piper has drawn blood from most of my friends/family and is therefore not particularly liked, but its okay because we have each other.
Student
Being a student takes up a large chunk of my time and is a large part of my identity. It will lead me to becoming an Occupational Therapist and doing something I have always wanted to do.
Ronald McDonald House Ambassador
This photo is on a charity train trip for Ronald McDonald house. I am a Dunedin ambassador and we meet once a month and do various fundraising activities. This enables me to give back to the community and have fun at the same time.
Friend and girlfriend
Two very important roles in my life are that of ‘friend’ and ‘girlfriend’ these relationships make up a huge part of my Occupational Identity as I spend a large amount of time maintaining and growing these relationships.
